Re: House selling prices
So is the expectation that owner-occupiers will have to sell up because they can't afford maintenance charges etc ? So there'll be lots of flats coming on the market (driving prices down) but with big liabilities in terms of maintenance? Or what ? Edit (this was a Qu from your 3:47 post) Dunners pr...

Re: House selling prices
Oh I’d forgotten RAAC. Huge amounts of LA stock is affected. Many LB’s are still getting round to identifying it - another ticking time bomb that’ll likely be kicked down the road as far as possible.
Agree that we are utterly f*cked.

Far be it from me to drag up old threads just to prove I was right all along, but.... The ONS has just updated its house price data showing average UK prices in September 2023 (£283,680) were revised down by £7,705 (-2.6%) compared to the price originally reported a year ago (£291,385). They did th...

Not really sure who he thinks he's having an argument with. Not like this place is crowded with Starmer / New Labour version 2.0 supporters.

Re: Lineker leaving MotD
Actually, probably the best option for now, would be to have a revolving cast of presenters, so that everybody gets to be disappointed in equal measure. I like this. Be even better if we could use fictional comedy characters on a weekly basis. Father Dougal Maguire would be an excellent opening cho...

Re: Orient Palace 1982 - FA Cup 5th Rnd
The week before the Palace game, Orient were 13th in Division 2 with 27 points having played 23 games. This after only taking 5 points from the first 10 games. Out of the next 23 league games, Orient won only twice more taking a measly total of 12 points from 69 available and were relegated in botto...

Orient Palace 1982 - FA Cup 5th Rnd
https://twitter.com/1968Tv/status/1856326461675745512 Scary to think this was 42 years ago. For me it was the start of a rapid decline after 12 years in Div 2 (championship to those sub-30 boarders). Relegation followed 2 months later after a horrific end to the season and 3 years later an unthinkab...

The CEB / OFF secret files are securely stored off-site. They'll be released in 30 years time (or as soon as someone's prepared to hand over some decent wedge).Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 1:22 pmThe paper copies of all the Boardin' files won't store themselves.

Re: Moving house advice
This morning I had drafted an email warning the buyer to sign the contract by the end of the week or it goes back on the market, but then we heard she has arranged her checks and they should be done by Tuesday and she says she wont be asking for any more money, so we'll go with that as at present w...

Heading down some winding country lane, the steering and brakes failed* when we hit some ice, and we did a Dukes of Hazzard-style jump over a ditch ...
