Reads like it was written by an intern who lied about their English grades on their application.

It’s written by this message board’s very own Hutch. The Reverend wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 8:36 am Reads like it was written by an intern who lied about their English grades on their application.
Just read and haven’t noticed anything wrong with the writing. What in particular is the issue?

The writer is a long-standing Orient fan, and all-round decent chap who has worked for the paper for many years. The Reverend wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 8:36 am Reads like it was written by an intern who lied about their English grades on their application.
Easy to be critical - why don't you post up an article You've written instead of some witless bile?
No? thought not.

Re: Guardian article
Plenty of online articles this kind of criticism applies to but genuinely can't see the issue here. Bizarre. The Reverend wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 8:36 am Reads like it was written by an intern who lied about their English grades on their application.

Re: Guardian article
Don’t mind criticising him (we’ve put each other right on points we were previously unsure of over the years) but genuinely curious as to what Rev is taking issue with here. It’s an informed overview of what’s happened at Orient in recent years, with nothing standing out as badly written.

Is The Rev that Os fan who got a job as a hack at The Sun? Freddie or something. Could explain the bitterness.

Re: Guardian article
The article is perfectly-written.I think the Reverend had a nice line to spin, but clearly, it does not apply here.

Re: Guardian article
This paragraph - which I’ve copied directly from the article without editing - is what I was referring to specifically. I’m surprised somebody as eagle eyed as you didn’t spot it.CEB2ElectricBoogaloo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 9:35 am Don’t mind criticising him (we’ve put each other right on points we were previously unsure of over the years) but genuinely curious as to what Rev is taking issue with here. From the article:
Keeley says he would “100%” go up for a late set piece should Orient be level or a goal behind late on against City. But other than a bicycle kick in a lockdown kickaround with friends, the Oldham goal is the only one he can recall scoring since he took up the gloves aged 12. Progress has been swift since, as he prospered. at St Patrick’s Athletic, where he was coached by Patrick Jennings, son of another goalscoring former keeper, the Tottenham legend Pat, before his move to Spurs in 2022. Jennings Sr is a regular face at Spurs and he and Keeley have struck up a rapport. “He’s at the club a lot. I’ve even played golf with him,” says Keeley

There seems to be an erroneous full stop after "prospered". I hope he's sacked and banned from the ground. The Reverend wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 10:29 amThis paragraph - which I’ve copied directly from the article without editing - is what I was referring to specifically. Re: Guardian article
There’s, a bit more, unnecessary punctuation in, the article. It shouldn’t. Detract from the main, thrust of the article though.

Erroneous full stop and maybe a comma that could go.

I am forming the opinion that the Rev is a 19th Century Public School zealot.
It is the Guardian, they love a "typo".

EDIT:
I just have the two this year:
1. No more message board feuds
2. Be more open about discussing non-football related topics on a League One football forum.”
Hmmmmm
