We were 4th tier, them 1st. Juryeff put us 1-0 just after half-time then the time went so slow. Lost 2-1

Also over 17,000 in attendance I seem to remember. We haven't been anywhere near that since. Even the play-off the following year had just over 13,000

Was at this and against a decent Notts team thought we was robbed.
Can't confirm crowd numbers but was on the terrace of what is now the New North Stand End which had the smelly toilets that backed onto people's back doors. I was never happy with that.
Also remember Orient fans (3 or 4 at best) on that terrace dressed in red and white harlequin suits, where are they now?

Yep.
No recollection of the game whatsoever, bizarrely. Although remember faking illness to get out of going to a a disco that evening.

Remember John Motson climbing up the West Stand ladder in his sheepskin coat to the gantry. We played well.

Yes. I was in the West Stand (very rare) and Mottie climbed up very, very gingerly … with cheers following all the way.Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2025 11:19 pm Remember John Motson climbing up the West Stand ladder in his sheepskin coat to the gantry. We played well.

We were living overseas then due to my work. I don't remember it at all. It was before the age of internet and Sky Sports available elsewhere than the UK; so I probably had to wait for the Sunday newspapers to be available (on Monday) to just get the result.

I had no idea it was that long ago.
I was at the game & remember that we played really well.
From my recollection Stevie Castle had a good game & gave Neil Webb a difficult afternoon.
I was in the East Stand which was where I always stood with a group of friends.

North Terrace was so busy, we had to stand in a different place than usual. Still much closer the the Burger hut & 1st in the queue 5 minutes before HT.

I have memories of paying Forest in a match that was abandoned at half time, think we lost when it was played in full. Think Clough was around at the time. Was it the 4th round of the cup

Re: Last time Brisbane Road hosted a 4th Round FA Cup tie
I'm pretty certain that was a midweek game in the Anglo-Scottish Cup. My dad took me and my best friend. IMO the game only kicked off because there were so many in the ground and they played the first half so they didn't have to give the fans who attended, their money back. It had been peeing down and continued to pee down all through the first half. Peter Allen hit the post and separately the bar with two shots.
