Castle Greyskull tops my list too.
Cappielow is a shitole but remains a traditional ground. Apparently their cowshed was severely damaged in the recent storm. How could they tell?

Colchester. Soulless and in the middle of nowhere.
Barnet - Soulless and in the middle of a leisure centre. Not a patch on Underhill.
Stevenage - Purely for the abomination that was known as cheesy chips.

Agree with Colchester. Easily the worst ground I’ve been to and annoyingly the closest. Stevenage is sh*t but those chips gave me 5 mins of fame.
Crawley - pokey ground I don’t think I’ve seen us win at
Mk - miles from the station or town. Soulless

Re: Football Grounds I Hate
Seems unfair to name non league grounds but Suttons strange layout, sh*tty fans and the worst toilet I’ve ever set foot in at a football ground

Was that you? I remember that (I may have even been at the game and stood nearby when the photo was taken).Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2025 11:27 am Agree with Colchester. That culinary delight has achieved legendary status in my house, and I now serve it up as a family treat every so often.

Re: Football Grounds I Hate
Oxford's is even worse than Colchester's. All the same downsides of being soulless and miles from anything, but they couldn't even be bothered to finish it.
Selhurst Park would be great if it wasn't for the fact that half the stadium can't see half the game.
Gillingham as an away fan is a proper piss take.
Reading's as a new build is fine, but took nearly as long to get out than the game itself.
Bolton might be the bleakest place I've been to for a ground. Surrounded by motorways, a sh*t retail park, nowhere to drink and bitter winds blowing in from every direction.

Re: Football Grounds I Hate
It was. Even got a write up in the star or something. I also bargained with a production company for £60 for them to use it on some panel show.Dunners wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2025 11:31 amWas that you? The only bit that spoiled is that I originally posted it to this board and some fanny posted it on Twitter and got all the clout

Re: Football Grounds I Hate
Correct. Was once there for a Brighton v Os and sat in the main stand. Was pretty good but that away end is a disgrace.

Re: Football Grounds I Hate
Gillingham is s***; no other word for it and that away end brings the home team a distinct advantage as no way to create an atmosphere.
Some of their scumbag stewards robbed an (expensive) bottle of after-shave from me prior to our recent promotion party as it was deemed an offensive weapon. This two-bob, pikey club will never get another penny from me. they are due a spell in the Conference and I hope it comes soon and is terminal.
Northampton and Colchester also pretty rubbish.
The view at the front (if you're placed there on a sell-out) at Pompey is also non-existent, but it's a museum-piece of a ground and takes credit for that..

We need more of this high level of festering resentment on this thread. Follow SD's example and getting hating.Scuba Diver wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2025 12:49 pm Gillingham is s***; no other word for it and that away end brings the home team a distinct advantage as no way to create an atmosphere.

Re: Football Grounds I Hate
Stretching football to incorporate NFL, my trip to the MetLife was horrendous.
Not even in NY state, let alone city. It’s old, decrepit and has abysmal transport links.
Took hours for about 1,000 of us to get buses back to NYC. As for the $15 cans of beer - feck that.
Only made bareable by the Redskins pumping the GMen in their own backyard.

Re: Football Grounds I Hate
Yeovil’s ground is poo poo. Stuck on an industrial park miles from anywhere. Away terrace uncovered, beer tent outside, though it was a temporary structure but been there for ages
And that’s just the good points!

Re: Football Grounds I Hate
Is pretty poor Yeovil - so nondescript that I hadn't forgotten it despite various visits.
The choice of sitting or standing is decent but as you say it's an open terrace.
Searching hard for some redeeming features-- - it's not hostile I suppose but overall is meh at best.

Re: Football Grounds I Hate
West Ham stadium is truly awful
It’s not suitable for football and a nightmare to get away from after the game
