Re: Mascot / Poppy-Watch

How is that misappropriation? Show your working. Well although I have never seen anyone actually wearing one I think they were brought in afterwards by the Womans Institute or similar to remember all victims of war and as a peace emblem. I do not understand why they had to use a pop...

Plenty of room for a new stadium on the marshes on the Leyton / Clapton border by the River Lea, along Lea Bridge Road, near to the Ice Rink - back to the heartland of our great Club

Re: 1st 2nd or 3rd

Having led the field for so long and seen so many let-downs over the years, I will be disappointed if we do not finish as league champions. Also, always aim for top position, so that if we fall short, second and third places are there as a very welcome consolation. However, if we aim for a top three...

Good morning, The O's Somme Memorial is in the village of Flers in the grounds of the Church of St Martin, which is on the main through road. Flers is between Albert and Baupame, south of the D929 road - post code 803360. Not to be confused with another Flers which is over towards Normandy

Recall seeing him score his first ever goal, the winner in a 2-1 v Southampton final game of the season. He got the ball on the half way line and simply ran away from the defenders, calmly slotting it by the keeper (Coronation Gardens end), he was clearly something special. Yep, I was there too. Si...

Re: Peter Kitchen not a fan of our way of playing 433

Yes, Sending Blackpool down was ironic, seeing it was their 4-1 beating of the O's at Brisbane Road at the start of the season, which resulted in George Petchey being sacked, with Bob Hatton scoring one of the fastest hat-tricks recorded.

Re: Jack Townrow

Many O's fans will know of John Townrow. He gave loyal service to the Club, generally playing as a centre-half and making 253 appearances, joining the Orient in 1918, as part of the major rebuilding process following the losses the O's suffered in the Great War. As mentioned, Townrow is one of only ...
