Exactly. We need an experienced manager. Bring back Russell Slade.

Correct.
I agree with this too. As much as I like the man and player, I just cannot see Jobi being a successful manager. Maybe a number two or coaching young players, yes.

I would be genuinely disappointed if it was him.
He has the character to pick our players back up from the floor. His experience in our current situation would be very valuable.

Thanks Lucky.

Jobi has a lot going for him but I’d be nervous about it if he got the job. Webb would be my choice of the in-housers but I trust the club to do what they think is best. There is no right or wrong here. The club will make a decision in good faith and we have to get behind it.

Jobi has huge experience and was a good call as skipper under JE. Respected by the players and is a calm influence in the dressing room. Give him the gig I say

Of course it's all about opinions but I don't agree with you. I don't believe he's dead wood.

There are few on here that dislike Slade & I believe more that do like him & if the owners do read this forum, then this is the thread they would most take notice of, I'd trial Jobi in the youth team as you have to start somewhere, but unthinkable of letting him run the team just as we have only got back in this league.

Hang on. Derby can give Lampard his first gig, Rangers Gerrard who both had little knowledge of the inner workings of these clubs but we can't appoint Jobi because it's too risky? Don't get it.

Probably because he got massive payoffs from other clubs and don’t need to rush back into football. His bank balance means he can take a year out and be choosy when to come back

I agree, but Ross is no manager. Would be a bad move.

Obviously, things didn't work out well for Russell at Coventry and Grimsby but he did a good job for us until Beelzebub arrived and Cardiff came sniffing around. I don't blame him for taking up the opportunity to manage Cardiff and getting away from Beelzebub

Fair points. Though Derby were pretty established in the league when he joined and Rangers are perhaps not representative. I think we are in a very different position, new to L2 and still trying to get established. If we were in L2 for a few years the Jobi, definitely worth a shot.

Though having giving him some thought perhaps he could do a job.
