It’s not over, but it’s just much much tougher now , having lost four in a row , and chasing the pack, we would need to win most of our remaining games .

Yeah, I think we're all hoping for that . Just keep your fingers crossed.Reflecto wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 9:56 am Agree that we could end up in the high 60's or low 70's points wise. I don't think we are ready (yet) for promotion - squad depth is still shallow and we are nearly maxed out on attendance revenue. Optimistically, I am hoping that the new investor(s) see that we are a good L1 side but needed extra resources to get us into the top 3/4 places next season. I'm also hoping that we announce that a new stadium site is secured and we start the detailed planning work on making it a reality. With BR we are not going to able to compete longer term in the Championship - and that also applies to L1 (where we have the 15th largest attendance). So with WW aside (who have new wealthy owners) - we are already punching well above our weight!
Really hoping for a win on Saturday - just to keep the top 6 interest going! COYO's
Squad if far to low on depth and quality as a result of being in the bottom end of spending in the league.Reflecto wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 9:56 am Agree that we could end up in the high 60's or low 70's points wise. We've done incredibly well with quite a few of our bigger players out early in the season but the last batch of injuries - Beckles, Happe, Simpson, Currie, James, O'Neil, Agyei (he's back now but his absence hurt us) - all these injuries have come home to roost. Clearly, our defence has been hit the worst. Shame, but I don't feel anyone or any policy is to blame here.
Always the voice of reason! I kind of took that as read to be honest but yeah, his parody of a keepers performance surely didn't help - he probably cost us upwards of 8-10 points. We'd recovered well since his "contribution" though but the latest batch of injuries may cost us dearly.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 11:45 amNot even Hemming?BoniO wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 11:41 am Injuries have screwed us. Absolutely injuries have screwed us, but a portion of that blame falls due to players being overused, brought back too soon etc. All because of a lack of proper depth in the first half of the season.BoniO wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 11:41 am Injuries have screwed us. Not disagreeing with you. The only point I’d make is that we’d have needed some depth of squad to cover the amount of injuries we’ve had. Let’s hope we can pull the rabbit out of the hat and somehow make the playoffs.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 2:38 pmAbsolutely injuries have screwed us, but a portion of that blame falls due to players being overused, brought back too soon etc. All because of a lack of proper depth in the first half of the season.BoniO wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 11:41 am Injuries have screwed us. We've also had players visibly running on empty but still being played, because of a lack of options.
You would not be talking like that after we beat Wrexham. Apart from Birmingham all the other teams can beat each other. It’s no where near over. The last thing we want is criticism like that.Lifelongfan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 05, 2025 9:16 am Just be realistic. IMO we are not good enough. No good saying if we win a certain amount of matches & others slip up. They won't slip up. They are better teams. Start to build & plan for next season
Two factors here: wages & fees went nuts last summer, and we were unprepared/unwilling to join in. And the ambition to mount a playoff charge wasn't there either, it's only over-performance by RW over the winter months that put this on the table.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 2:54 pm And by lack of depth, I’m including the likes of Sonny as a first time loanee (and Donley, to be fair), out of shape DJ, match-shy Dom Ball, unsuitable/not good enough cheapies Lemming and Warrington etc, it’s not just about numbers.

Yes. they have gone now . All we can do now is try and finish as high as high we can but in reality our season is over .LeytonOstone wrote: ↑Sat Mar 08, 2025 5:41 pm"Some of the crowd think it's all over - it is now!"moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 3:22 pmYou would not be talking like that after we beat Wrexham. We won't . Not going to make up 7 points. Long goneOrient Punxx wrote: ↑Sun Mar 09, 2025 10:07 am They’re not gone. We can still get to 83 points and 78 will do. Win the next 5 and it’s game on. We’ve still got something to play for, the next 5 opponents haven’t.
I am not sure these teams, with nothing to play for will ease up.Orient Punxx wrote: ↑Sun Mar 09, 2025 10:07 am They’re not gone. We can still get to 83 points and 78 will do. Win the next 5 and it’s game on. We’ve still got something to play for, the next 5 opponents haven’t.
We won't beat Blackpool. Stevenage bullied us in the EFL trophyOrient Punxx wrote: ↑Sun Mar 09, 2025 12:19 pm They’ve got a week to pull themselves together. Next Saturday will prove whether there’s any fightor whether that the trip to Blackpool is for a donkey ride on the beach 🫏
