Re: Ballard Bids
He was poor up top though, only came good when played out wide cutting in so doesn't really help with the man leading the line requirementHoover Attack wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2026 2:34 pmI liked him.essexfootball wrote: Fri Jul 24, 2026 5:52 pm Bristol Rovers are determined to hold firm after receiving a six-figure bid for Shaq Forde...

I agree . I hope we have a couple of strikers lined up to come in . Can’t help feeling that Shaq Forde bid was from us .BigDaddyO wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2026 4:46 pm Hugely undervalued if true.
£15m for stansfield but we can only get £5m for Ballard?
Dreadful business, especially with the season so close.

I hope not, he came good as a wide player but was absolutely awful leading the lineRedDwarf 1881 wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2026 5:21 pmI agree . I hope we have a couple of strikers lined up to come in . Re: Ballard Bids
It’s dreadful in the sense that this could have been done at the start of summer. Dragging it on for weeks just puts us in the sh*t now that we have to panic buy a striker.BigDaddyO wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2026 4:46 pm Hugely undervalued if true.

Of course i know it was inevitable that he would be sold, but I still feel disappointed he has gone. At this moment in time we have no strikers which is a little concerning considering the season starts on SaturdayThe Reverend wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2026 7:07 pmIt’s dreadful in the sense that this could have been done at the start of summer. Only silver lining is next week is only a warm-up game in a meaningless cup so it buys a little more time, albeit not muchRedDwarf 1881 wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2026 7:14 pmOf course i know it was inevitable that he would be sold, but I still feel disappointed he has gone. Re: Ballard Bids
The way they’ve been talking all window is as though this has been inevitable. In that scenario, you can only assume there’s a succession plan in place so give them time. If nobody is in within a week or two, then it’s unacceptable.E10quence wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2026 7:16 pm £5m might've been just about acceptable at the start of the transfer window. One week before the start of the season it's just bad business.

Although we need two strikers now, there is no guarantee that either of them will be as productive and as exciting to watch as Dom. I hope Wellens gets the guys he wants.

Really hope Wareham is on our radar and a deal can be done asapfaith1234 wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2026 8:07 pm If and when the deal is done what about Jamie Wareham the ex orient and Exeter player scored 16 goals in a bad season which saw them go down to division 2
Also we should look at Matt Rush/Boreham Wood
If we get these 2 guys we will replace Ballards goals and more

Re: Ballard Bids
Or as physically robust. We've had two seasons of freakily uninjured strikers, more than balanced out by the number of injury issues throughout the rest of the squad. Can't count on being lucky 3 times in a row.Chicken Dhansak wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2026 8:10 pm Although we need two strikers now, there is no guarantee that either of them will be as productive and as exciting to watch as Dom. Re: Ballard Bids
Jayden Wareham's brother unfortunately passed away at the age of 2 the other day. Very sad news, I would be surprised if Wareham did make a transfer as he must be going through some difficult times.Stan1972 wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2026 9:27 pmReally hope Wareham is on our radar and a deal can be done asapfaith1234 wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2026 8:07 pm If and when the deal is done what about Jamie Wareham the ex orient and Exeter player scored 16 goals in a bad season which saw them go down to division 2
