Re: Ballard Bids
On Bristol citys fan forum nixon has said an offer was made starting with a £2 which is " Well short" of the asking price.
Cant wait for the number that starts with a £5 getting knocked back as well short again.
That'll make them ponder

Re: Ballard Bids
No rumours about the amount of money offered but definitely rumours about a bid coming in. Apparently the club rejected the offer...

IF Ballard goes it will be for around 4 million , nobody will be stupid enough to pay much more than that .

The club can name their price for Dom. They'd be mad to accept so little for him.

Re: Ballard Bids
Mate of mine who is a Bristol City fan told me they had put in a bid around £3-4m for Ballard. That was a few weeks ago so assume it was rejected. Given the length of time left on his contract we can definitely afford to be bullish with the asking price.

Re: Ballard Bids
If a bid of £3-4m came in, we’d snap their hand off.
Dom has at least made it to the start of pre season training. Didn’t Ethan last year? I know he was gone in the first week, before the game v Brentwood (as was Brown).

I dunno. His contract length massively plays to our advantage. If he had 18 months left then yes but we don’t have to sell.Hoover Attack wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2026 8:39 am If a bid of £3-4m came in, we’d snap their hand off.

Although obviously a risk to turn anything big down. If he gets a big injury or scores 6 goals next season we’ll never get anything like it but if he has another 20 goals season we’ll get more than 3m next year.

If he's said he's pissed off after last season and wants out, there's no point keeping an unhappy player. He won't be performing as he should and value would be potentially impacted. Hopefully Richie has worked his charm, seen the standard of new players coming in, and he's committed for another 12 months.

Re: Ballard Bids
Yeah fair point. I’d imagine if that conversation happens it might be more of, stay until Jan, score ten goals and go somewhere for 6mHoover Attack wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2026 9:37 amIt's on him.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2026 8:52 amI dunno. Re: Ballard Bids
Not sure we would take that. There will be interest in him and while the £15 million price tag that Wellen's mentioned was a bit tongue in cheek we can afford to wait. He's got 2 years and another as an option on his contract, he's not unhappy at the club and is very level headed. It may be a lot closer to the deadline but I think we will get £5 million plus which would be a good fee for a player with one good season in League one behind him.Hoover Attack wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2026 8:39 am If a bid of £3-4m came in, we’d snap their hand off.

Re: Ballard Bids
I am seeing some on a Facebook group being sniffy about Bristol City and saying they are not good enough for Ballard. They have Michael Skubala as their Mananer now and reached the play offs the season before last.
It would be a definite step up for Ballard to being playing for a Championship team.
He is still only one season wonder and Championship clubs won't pay more than 4 or 5 million on one good season.

Why the hell would we take anything less than £6 million
And even that would be less than most of us want
