Best Boarding Name

Post by Clive Evans »

For me the Boarder with the best nom de plume, is Bergen. It is succinct. No messing around with a name like that. You instantly know where he comes from, yet leaves an air of mystery. One pictures a blond giant of a man, who has great taste, after all, he lives so far away, yet supports the O's. He doesn't seem to have originated in the eastern parts of London and one wonders why he chose to support us, but obviously has immaculate sense of taste. I can only speculate, that perhaps a thousand years ago, one of his ancestors sailed down the River Thames in a longboat, and forcefully ( perhaps not so very forcefully, knowing the women from East London ) had his wicked way. Maybe the delights of East London percolated through the centuries and effected the culture of Bergen Society? Who knows?

Smendrick Feaselburg. It got the biggest laugh of any boarders name when we read out a question on Orient Hour. It's a great name.

I’m a sucker for a slightly-altered pun on a common saying/name, so currently the likes of Biggsy Malone and Apple Wumble get my vote.
