Agents fees 2024/25

Post by Top of the JES »

The O's spent £172,049 on agents fees this season that is one of the lowest amounts in league one. Only Shrewsbury, Crawley. Exeter, Wigan Northampton and Mansfield spent less. Huddersfield (£1,160,403) were the highest spenders followed by Wrexham, Birmingham, Bolton and Charlton.

Incredible that these parasites have been able to creep into the game to the point where they're just accepted.

I wonder if any of the clubs feel they are value for money? I have never heard a club say so.

The days when a footballer could barely string a sentence together seem to be largely gone- some of the O's players have got degrees (for example), and you wonder why they would need to give part of their wages/fees to these bottom-feeders...

They must provide value somewhere along the line, but I am struggling (admittedly from outside the game) to see what it is.

Absolutely this, leeching off the talent of the players with none of their own. Was sent a good interview Simon Jordan did on this and agreed with everything he said.

I remember when Pogba signed for Man Utd some years ago,
The fee was £89 million and the fee paid to Raiola, his Italian agent was £40 million
Absolute Madness.

I think at higher levels when there are numbers as big as telephone number players are wise to have them. Less so in L 1&2 but thats the way football is and has been for years.

There are a couple of fantastic Cloughie stories on the internet about his dealings with players and agents.

So apart from us, all those low spenders are 15th and below. And we all know where in the league the big spenders are.
