Do we know how many memberships we'd sold before the fixture was announced?Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 1:45 pmThe alternative is that somewhere between 2 and 3 thousand Orient fans decided to pay £30 for a membership to guarantee themselves a £32 ticket.Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 1:09 pm
It really isn't. Away tickets are capped at 30 quid for the prem, they can't sell out most home games with tickets at a lower price than that. I don't think Orient away is such a huge event that a fan would spend that much plus be sat amongst home fans to watch City's reserves pump a league 1 team.
Of course some will have, just can't see it being that high a number.

Re: WHERE HAVE THE 40+ NORTH STAND MAN CITY TICKETS GONE???
Also, £30 is the official price of an away ticket for a City fan. Many will have to buy these second hand at an inflated price as they won’t be on the points scheme (or have anywhere near enough) themselves.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 1:45 pmThe alternative is that somewhere between 2 and 3 thousand Orient fans decided to pay £30 for a membership to guarantee themselves a £32 ticket.Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 1:09 pm

Secondly, the claim that it’s not a huge event for City fans is redundant. It doesn’t have to be a “huge” event. Even if it’s a normal event the Orient allocation is less than half to meet the demand of a “normal” event. As I mentioned previously, playing Orient is at the very least a normal event for City fans because:
A. It’s a ground most fans won’t have been to for a very long time (if ever)
B. It’s in London (which is easier to get to than most league 1 clubs)
C. Obtaining tickets for this game is easier than obtaining normal away tickets (for the reasons I’ve already explained)
D. It’s incredibly naive to think that there aren’t many Man City fans who would be interested enough in this fixture to want to attend it in person. Sure, the glory hunters and part timers won’t care, but City has a big enough fanbase to sell at least 3000 tickets for practically any fixture against any club. Easily.

I'm basing it on the same principles as yourThe Reverend wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 1:43 pmWhat are you basing this claim on? And even if it is true how are the club policing this? Given that they seem to have ballsed up the basic concept of selling tickets today are you seriously expecting me to believe that they have mastered some sort of sophisticated geolocation detecting ticket administration system?Bandy Legs wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 12:53 pmBut the club won't sell tickets to fans if , they are based in Manchester. The Reverend wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 12:25 pm
Don’t think location makes a difference. City will take over 3,000 away fans to a standard league game. I suspect Orient is quite an enticing fixture as it’s a bit different to the usual schedule of the same away grounds they must go to each season.
The club leaving a loophole which allowed City fans who were willing to pay a similar price to what they normally would for league tickets was a big mistake in my opinion. There will be loads dotted around the stadium.
Man city fans have hoovered up a bunch of one Orient memberships.
Plucked from nowhere, other than they send you a physical one Orient card in the post.

City regularly have away games that don't sell out in the home end, I went to one at Palace. I just don't buy the idea that thousands of city fans have gone to the effort and pretty steep cost to get tickets amongst home fans. It's such a rubbish experience.
Will happily hold my hands up if I'm wrong.

Re: WHERE HAVE THE 40+ NORTH STAND MAN CITY TICKETS GONE???
If we get 20 odd thousand for a play off finals, tickets for which aren't much cheaper than a membership + tickets for the city game, then it's not implausible to me and feels more likely than an away fan takeover.

Re: WHERE HAVE THE 40+ NORTH STAND MAN CITY TICKETS GONE???
I'm not saying that demand won't outstrip supply for away tickets. I'm saying I don't buy that translating into away fans in the home end in any significant number, particularly at the cost and hassle it'd have involved. Complaining about how the days going to be ruined is massively premature..The Reverend wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 2:40 pmSo your logic is that because City occasionally don’t fill up a 53,000 seater home stadium they won’t need more than 1,200 away tickets for a rare fixture in London that barely ever happens?Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 2:29 pmCity regularly have away games that don't sell out in the home end, I went to one at Palace. I edited my reply because I realised I’d misread your original point and wasn’t suggesting the thing about selling out the City ground. Because Orient fans are directly mailed ticketing information and will be on their social media channels. I don't buy the idea that city fans would bother en masse.
Because a ticket for an Orient fan in the home end is clearly worth a lot more to an Orient fan than a city fan. I don't buy the idea loads of city fans are happy to pay twice what they would for a prem away ticket to sit amongst home fans.

Why are you bothered ? You made a big point of smirking about how clever you had been to get yours sorted so quickly ……unless of course you hadn’t.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 11:41 am There are now just 40 tickets in the East Stand (and none elsewhere).
I refuse to believe ST holders/OnePlus members have remembered overnight/this morning that they needed to buy their secured ticket and logged in to do so.
