I reckon way more City fans (and general chancers) have bought memberships and snapped up tickets than people realise.
These are people who often have to fork out £100+ for Premier League tickets so a membership + c.£30 is nothing unusual for them.
Would that be the London based City fans or the Manchester based ones as well?
Don’t think location makes a difference. City will take over 3,000 away fans to a standard league game. I suspect Orient is quite an enticing fixture as it’s a bit different to the usual schedule of the same away grounds they must go to each season.
The club leaving a loophole which allowed City fans who were willing to pay a similar price to what they normally would for league tickets was a big mistake in my opinion. There will be loads dotted around the stadium.

What would you rather deal with, a group of 50 angry blokes in person or a load of whiny emails and tweets? Clearly ditched the on-line sales to keep the peace.
Only blokes buy tickets do they? Seems a bit sexist that…
In person, yes.
Women buy them on-line from home whilst looking after the kids.

Agreed with all of this and I'd imagine they have some sort of priority for those 3,000 tickets ie they'd take more if allowed.
The club saw the chance to sell a few more OrientPlus memberships - not caring who to - and took it.
Think The Rev is right. Lots of city fans would have bought a membership. Bit silly from the club in promoting that after announcing priority considering there will now be at least 1000 city fans in home ends (based on numbers of ST holders).
It is what it is but again, poor foresight or perhaps a ploy for extra cash.

My understanding is that City have a points system for away tickets and it’s a bit of a closed shop as you accumulate points by going to away games. Once you’re in, you’re in for life. Tickets for any fixture apart from something like Wolves away on a Monday night are almost impossible for even normal season ticket holders.
The point I’m making is that for a City fan obtaining a ticket for the Orient game via the membership loophole is both easier and probably cheaper than it is for them to buy an away ticket to essentially any regular league game. I’d like to think it was a blunder by Orient rather than anything more cynical. It is going to spoil the day because there will be city fans everywhere and you just have to look at what happened with Rangers and United recently to see that people simply cannot behaviour themselves at football these days. It’ll really ruin the occasion I think.

But the club won't sell tickets to fans if , they are based in Manchester. Not 3000 minus the already given allocation & have never purchased a ticket for an Orient match before.
There are some real conspiracy theorists on here

Exactly.
Orient fans would balk at paying £62 for a tickets but possibly do so for the 'occassion' but to City fans, it's cheap.

b*stard in the light blue coat not even trying to conceal who he's supporting. The club needs to get a grip.
As for the bloke with the corn rows in his hair, no way he is a Londoner

I am skeptical that you are going to see anything more than a handful to city fans in the home end. It's an awful way to watch football and the sort of highly motivated away supporter who's following this that closely will know it's just not much fun to be surrounded by home fans. City aren't a club with a ton of casual fans either, which reduces the chances further imo.
Proof will be on the day, I'm still nervy about touts but can't see any popping up on the resale platforms just yet.
Do agree that extending the window for membership registrations was an obvious money grab - wouldn't have had an objection to members getting priority had it only applied to existing ones.

Is it a city coat though? Its more grey than blue.

It really isn't. Away tickets are capped at 30 quid for the prem, they can't sell out most home games with tickets at a lower price than that. I don't think Orient away is such a huge event that a fan would spend that much plus be sat amongst home fans to watch City's reserves pump a league 1 team.

What are you basing this claim on? And even if it is true how are the club policing this? Given that they seem to have ballsed up the basic concept of selling tickets today are you seriously expecting me to believe that they have mastered some sort of sophisticated geolocation detecting ticket administration system?

The alternative is that somewhere between 2 and 3 thousand Orient fans decided to pay £30 for a membership to guarantee themselves a £32 ticket.
Of course some will have, just can't see it being that high a number.
