Re: Forbidden fruits.
I think he may stay for another season, as what we’re seeing at the moment is down to Ritchies work with him, and hopefully Spurs can see this but it may depend on us getting to the Championship or Spurs buying one or two strikers.Beradogs wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 3:52 am Have mixed feelings about Jaime Donley being here. It’s like going out with a beautiful women who you know you will never see again after the one date as she will be off to marry Donald Trump. Are you glass half full or empty. Privilege to see him play or does it just remind you that we will forever be a small club with only glimpses of greatness.

Re: Forbidden fruits.
I can see us maybe getting Keeley on a perm in the future. He likes it here and no way he is getting close to Spurs first team. They just signed a first team level keeper this month. I think we are about his level with a chance of progression and a good coach. We are ideal for him.
No chance with Donley
A chance with Kelman (who is improving massively). QPR didn't fancy him now having seen his performances and improvement are less willing to sell to us. Richie mentioned this a month or so back. I think he would be an asset as one of our own players. Good age, chance to get even better. All round good player and work rate for this level.

Re: Forbidden fruits.
The one loan I would love is to sign on a permanent is Super Jack Currie, the guy is pure quality.
Never stops running, solid defensively and quality going forward.
But he will prob cost £500k

Re: Forbidden fruits.
To the OP: whatever happened to “never fall in love with a loan player”?
And as many others on this thread have shown, the one we need to worry about losing is Richie. Even more so than Nigel. There, I said it.

What a pessimistic viewpoint. Blimey, cheer up.Beradogs wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 7:20 am True but I saw that pass for the second goal last night and haven’t seen anything like that for many a year. Seeing it live was special. Just makes you kind of sad knowing he will be off again after this season and we will, in all likelihood, be back to mid table obscurity. Not just because of him, of course, but because that’s where we are as a club. That’s where we have always been. When I get glimpses of greatness I want more and more!
Always a shame when great loan players move on but got to be grateful for their service, appreciate the football we get to see and the enjoy the fruits of whatever they help the club achieve if any. Was gutted when m’poku left, when el-miz left, will be gutted when the current batch of loans move on but the club have proved themselves very adept at utilising the loan market and I don’t see why that would change now. Part and parcel of being a smaller club with a lower budget.

I'll settle for mid table obscurity next season if we're in the championshipBeradogs wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 7:20 am True but I saw that pass for the second goal last night and haven’t seen anything like that for many a year.
