Good to see we’ve found another issue to sort out the yoghurt knitters and the angry gammons now we’ve had a couple of weeks respite from the brexit shambles.

We have only the one planet Earth that we live on, it must be protected for the good of all future generations of humans and also for the wildlife and plants etc in all their various forms.
Oi Sid, that bloke just called you a socialist.
I was brought up in the countryside so have learnt to love and respect all things connected with the natural world.
I was also brought up to practise and believe that you have to learn to help yourself, something mankind is plainly NOT doing in the way it is acting in its custodianship of the world. This profound young lady, has great wisdom and noble aims. She commands my respect far more than many world leaders who appear to be far more interested in short sightedness and greed, Trump for starters.
Amazing that Greta Thunberg contributes the driving force behind her own intense and determined nature is in some ways down to being diagnosed with Asperger syndrome, obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), and selective mutism when she was around 11 years old.
Quote ''She added that selective mutism meant she only talks when she needs to and that "now is one of those moments"; and that being on the "spectrum" was an advantage "as almost everything is black or white"

Not laying into her, more the way things are done around her. E.g. politicians scrambling to be seen with someone who just isnt an authority on the subject.

Greta Thunberg, highly intelligent and intense girl who is generating a lot of interest in the subject of ''Climate Change'' throughout the World, especially amongst young people. Most people who are classed as highly intelligent or even Genius are like this because their brains think differently to others. They see things in a different light and are often very single minded individuals who pursue their aims with great vigour. Greta Thunberg has been diagnosed as having ''Asperger syndrome'' which is sometimes called the '‘genius gene‘' Noteworthy people with AS include George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, Albert Einstein, Robin Williams, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and many others we consider geniuses in modern society. We can expect that most Aspergians will have a specific field of interest in which they excel from a young age, like Wolfgang A. Mozart, who from the age of 4 was composing classical music. According to some researchers, Isaac Newton's brilliant work, obsessive tendencies, and lack of social grace may also have been signs of the psychological developmental disorder Asperger's syndrome. Anne Hegerty in the ITV game show The Chase, is known as "the Governess". In a candid interview on This Morning Tv Show Hegerty stated that she has Asperger syndrome with which she was diagnosed in 2005. Lastly, In history there is much evidence of many great people who were or are largely on the higher functioning end of the spectrum of Autism and Aspergers, including Leonardo da Vinci, Abraham Lincoln, Andy Warhol, Dan Ackroyd, and many others who have shaped our world for the better.

So calling her mental isn't laying into her - what an ignorant tw*t you are. You haven't improved any since the last board have you.

Most genius people are on a different plain to the average person, Greta is not mental, she just sees and thinks differently to average people, as also did Newton, Einstein, etc.

For myself, not got a clue as to the new names on this forum as to who they were before.
I just kept the same name. I saw no point in changing.

By the way I run my life, I would imagine quite a low Carbon footprint. Live very modestly and grow most of my own veg for a start and cycle quite a lot. When I lived with my parents on a small holding, we were virtually self sufficient in most things.

Selective mutism (SM) is an anxiety disorder in which a person who is normally capable of speech cannot speak in specific situations or to specific people. Selective mutism usually co-exists with shyness or social anxiety.

This probably applies to most of the keyboard warriors on here

Surprised how many people I know with smart phones, laptops etc, are just too lazy to research things themselves and call me up and ask me to do it for them, especially when it comes to saving money on all the usual things. Common excuse being...........Oh well, you are good at finding things out !!

Dreadful to see that you make some pitiful nil-point scoring attempt by belittling those with a genuine disorder.

At least those with SM have genuine reasons for their difficulties - what are yours?
