Re: Sky sports+
Back on topic not impressed by the Sky coverage at all. Replays janky and no analysis or discussion pre-match or at HT. Orient Live did it far better
Edit: ahhh now after minutes of silence the commentator returns

Re: Sky sports+
The lack of Dave Victor is the one redeeming feature imo
Commentator does sound bored with the gig he's been given today but at least he gets the names right and commentary reflects the play going on. Miss the Orient Live studio guests though.

Re: Sky sports+
"Technical difficulties" no doubt but just embarrassing when it's supposedly a professional broadcaster.
To the Orient Live team, it's a shame the EFL sold you out, the club service is a way better package overall

For what Sky are charging you'd expect a full presentation not just the bare minimum (not surprised though really)Brigs wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 7:31 pmThe studio guests are free on you tube , Dave Victor did the radio commentary.

Re: Sky sports+
So for Sky to take £15 a game the club needs to still make a decent quality programme for them? Not saying the club aren't offering good content, rather that Sky's is piss poor in comparison. Typical greedy Sky I guess...

You aren't watching a Premier league match. Why would you expect more?

Re: Sky sports+
Given all the fanfare of the so called amazing deal for the EFL would expect a professional presentation of the game, not this half-arsed effort that really confirms Sky just wanted to wrestle control back from the clubs and doing the bare minimum to fulfil their obligations. Sad really as Orient were leading the way with Orient TV.Brigs wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 7:56 pmYou aren't watching a Premier league match. Why would you expect more?

Until the cock up at the end, and acknowledging that the coverage was basic, the actual video quality was superb and several notches better than last year’s offering.

What said about Southgate was a theory what I said about Drinnan was a theory what I said a bout Jacket was a theory what I said about Graham was a theory what I said about Lee Carsley was a theory so here’s another theory Kelman won’t get into double figures. Yep your correct I’ve got it all wrongTop of the JES wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 12:13 pm
MB not another conspiracy theory, let’s break this one down.
All the Sky money - likely to be paid in instalments so probably not seen much of it yet.
Money from players sold. Sanders fee probably £20/30k Ruel compensation probably £50k tops - not much really.
STs/streaming. Same as every year go towards players contracts and running costs
Positives
Wellens and Terry’s new contracts (you thought they would leave last season)
Brown new contract.
New contracts offered to Galbraith and Adjeyi.
Got rid of Piggot.
Ground Improvements
Pitch Improvements
Some decent signings with a couple more to come
We lose £millions every season, I know it’s in your nature to look on the dark side but the club know what they are doing, I for one trust Wellens, Ling, Travis to take us forward, but they can’t win with some people. Talks cheap but running a league one football club isn’t. We may have up to £million extra revenue this season but when you lost £2.5 million last season and made a lot of ground improvements it won’t go that far.

... I can actually see the FA promoting from within, and giving it to Lee Carsley due to his own record with the under 21s'

Re: Sky sports+
Not sure what your trying to say but I did post about Carsley last year and copied nobody’s post if that is what your trying to say? Some on here really don’t like the truth good or bad. I would not like to see the club go backwards but at this point and not just because of Saturdays result I think we all struggle mainly through lack of investment as many have already said . It’s as simple as that. No conspiracy theory just plan facts.Brigs wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 5:41 pm I did exactly that & this is the 1st mention of Lee Carsley on this boardMonkey Boy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 5:24 pmI would suggest that you look at some past posts that I made long before pundits. Trouble with people like you, you like to bury your head in the sand like many others on here. This club will struggle this season like it or not and it will be due to the lack of investmentTop of the JES wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 1:29 pm SC News was put out by the SC, I agree with you what could happen but I’m sure lots of other could see that happening too we are yet to see what happens on that one.
Carsley taking temp charge of England was muted in the press two days after we lost the final. No idea what you said about Drinan. Jacket losing the dressing room rumours started fairly early on and Jordan Graham is far from finished.
Stop claiming you’re always right it makes you look really silly. Your latest what’s happened to all the money, somethings going on is a bit deperate.
You are making yourself into the message boards version of Davi Icke.Taken from this thread where you mentionMonkey Boy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 1:27 pmNo problem Scuba respect your views as well as I do most others on here. Would disagree with the money side of things now days. Vigs for example. Not like the old days when playing was a priority however you can’t blame them for wanting to get financially secure . Have a nice day palScuba Diver wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 1:14 pm
Fair points there fella, and thanks.
Not Everything comes down to money though - anyone who would be wanted for the job, is likely a multi-millionaire anyway..
I agree that (despite his many qualities, which are evident by his record) he has stuff to learn in the tactical realm.
However, we've just beaten Italy home and away so maybe that area is improving too.
As an aside, I can actually see the FA promoting from within, and giving it to Lee Carsley due to his own record with the under 21s'.
