They all want the ball to feet. Running in behind isn’t their nature. They either run or Kane has to play like Ronaldo.
Is that why the press failed? Kane isn't Ronaldo, why play like Ronaldo & 7 or 9?
He holds position and drops off when its helps the team move forward.

The press failed because the players didn’t press.
So Ronaldo in an ineffective press would have the same problem?

For years the England managers have always been paid shed-loads. I believe that as far back as Fabio Capello (who couldn't even speak English) , he was being paid £6m a year ( £115k a week)....

I imagine it's to make-up for the ignominy of being the National Punchbag, wherein every journalist, bloke in the street, and simpleton, feels they have a right to put the boot into you- which can even cross over onto a personal level.
Even when you're Top of an international group (as England are now) you're fair game for a lashing.

Yep another semi. At least a semi final in last 3 of 4 major tournaments. You just cannot make a case against his management record.

A smattering of morons on here, and all over social media doing just that.

They come with the inflated sense of entitlement of infants. No doubt they're disappointed today that England have progressed.
Unsurprisingly, they're the same people that like to put the knife into LOFC with their "expert" (lol) opinions - slaughtering signings they've never seen kick a ball for us etc.
Tragic.

It was strange to see the total reversal of opinion from the pundits on the bbc yesterday. The performance was a bit better in patches then the previous 2 games, I guess, but the way they were biggIng up the performance and the tactics was just bizarre.

will he have the cojones to give kane a rest? the team showed real character no little talent either. the penalties were simply phenomenal. phenomenal. Think we will have an easier time against the dutch than we would had against turkey...

I totally agree with them, boring, boring negative football I can’t stand to watch anymore.Just scraping a win on penalties is not good enough.Yes we are in another Semi Final but that’s means and counts for nothing unless we win the final.
Some people are easily pleased and don’t mind watching generally mind bending boring negative football and are happy with getting as far as the semi finals but I will never be.

Germany tanked Scotland 5-1, Beat Hungary 2-0
& Drew 1-1 with Switzerland.. Scotland Switzerland & Germany all wish they were still in the Tournament.

Football is part of the entertainment industry
and watching Southgate manage England
is not entertaining at all ..
Plenty of flaws in his management and
style of play he’s trying to install, negative
boring play where we literally scrape over
the line against also runs ..
Wages of £5 million a year gets you this,
Unbelievable to think that ..
1 win in 5 games ( 90 mins) in this tournament
stumble’s you over the line in the weaker
side of the draw ..
Only seen this style of inept management once
before once during the Becchitti era ..

Having scored less goals from open play than England.

Nearly men are not winners and that’s what Southgate is and in my opinion always will be.
England desperately need a Manager that will win Major tournaments and play attacking football that is entertaining.
Nobody wants a loser that plays negative, boring and unattractive football.

This thread was created 16 days ago when the haters thought Southgate was taking England out.
Now they are 90 minutes away from another Final. Quite literally never happened before excitement for England & it's people

180 minutes from winning a first tournament in nearly 60 years, pretty exciting stuff when you look at it Historically. I men Germany have won loads of tournaments as have Italy France & Spain.
Not even going to Include Brazil & Argentina
