Re: The trans debate
Max doing his “vaguely say something without making a point, or saying what he actually thinks” again, I see.

Re: The trans debate
Implicit in my comment is that thanks to the witch hunt, desperate people are being driven into the hands of exploitative drug dealers and away from medical supervision under the NHS. This is harmful to them.
But then you know that already but don't want to take responsibility for the damage your witch hunt causes.

Re: The trans debate
The funniest thing about this thread is that Max is 100% on message in terms of the left’s approach to the issue of trans rights activism

If people are determined to pursue unproven or dangerous treatments, what can be done? I dont think the answer is to provide them on the nhs.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 12:22 pm Implicit in my comment is that thanks to the witch hunt, desperate people are being driven into the hands of exploitative drug dealers and away from medical supervision under the NHS. Like you, I have literally no idea but there is a man on this thread who does. Hopefully he comes along soon to put us out of our thick miseryLong slender neck wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 3:14 pmIf people are determined to pursue unproven or dangerous treatments, what can be done? Re: The trans debate
Genuinely baffling to see intelligent people acting as if some very straightforward points are incomprehensible. LSN is of course correct, as everybody would know if we were discussing literally anything else equivalent to this

I see the Tory client journalists have been fed their daily non factual Labour scaremongering story.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 9:59 pm Want to legally change you gender? You GP will be able to sign it off under Labour

Please link me to where they’ve denied the story that contains quotes from the shadow minister who would be responsible? The Mindsweep wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 10:32 pmI see the Tory client journalists have been fed their daily non factual Labour scaremongering story.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 9:59 pm Want to legally change you gender? Labour has just indicated they would update the process, nothing about a GP being able to sign it off.
If it helps I've cut and pasted the quote from the shadow minister that is in the article
Anneliese Dodds, the shadow women and equalities secretary, said she wanted to strip out the “futile and dehumanising parts” of acquiring a gender recognition certificate.
“We believe everyone should be treated with dignity and respect,” she said. “We want to see the process for gender recognition modernised, while protecting single sex spaces for biological women. This means stripping out the futile and dehumanising parts of the process for obtaining a gender recognition certificate, while retaining important safeguards.”

Re: The trans debate
So you think the source the story is based on is made up? Bold claim
If so, I look forward to the party refuting the story.
They won’t because it’s legitimate

So you’re currently at the “it isn’t happening” phase. The Mindsweep wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 10:59 pmThere is no story.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 10:42 pmPlease link me to where they’ve denied the story that contains quotes from the shadow minister who would be responsible? The Mindsweep wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 10:32 pm

Can you confirm what your position would be if it is happening? Cos a lot of people advocating for the trans rights side of things seem to work on the two step “this isn’t happening… ok it might be happening but it’s GOOD that it’s happening”

Re: The trans debate
The stage I am at personally is irrelevant with regards to the article. I was questioning its accuracy as it falls into one of the ever decreasing attack lines that the Tories are throwing at Labour.CEB wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2024 11:18 amSo you’re currently at the “it isn’t happening” phase. The Mindsweep wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 10:59 pmThere is no story.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 10:42 pm

It may have been better placed in the general Labour thread
Re: The trans debate
It’s not irrelevant, because as Dunners says, it’s accurate. So I’m asking what your position will be once it comes out as accurate: you can choose to see it as hypothetical if you like.
I don’t see why you would feel that you can’t answer
