Re: Daryl McMahon
McMahon’s lasting legacy at Orient will forever be that goal we conceded as a counter attack from our own corner against Derby. Almost topped 3 minutes later when the exact same thing happened but somehow they managed to miss (probably out of sympathy)

Re: Daryl McMahon
Sorry I thought it was reference to his playing career . Thoughts were with that awful free kick at Sheff Wed, that turned into a home goal (on reflection well before his time). Yes Derby

Was it after that game it was announced that he had left the club - definitely not been sacked - so he could concentrate on securing a post elsewhere (as it turns out, at Step 3 Hornchurch). The Reverend wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 8:59 pm McMahon’s lasting legacy at Orient will forever be that goal we conceded as a counter attack from our own corner against Derby. Re: Daryl McMahon
I think he was still technically employed by the club at that point. If I cared enough about him (which I don’t) I’d go back and look but I’m pretty sure he was binned right after that game.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 10:28 pmWas it after that game it was announced that he had left the club - definitely not been sacked - so he could concentrate on securing a post elsewhere (as it turns out, at Step 3 Hornchurch). The Reverend wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 8:59 pm McMahon’s lasting legacy at Orient will forever be that goal we conceded as a counter attack from our own corner against Derby. Still one of the strangest appointments ever made.

Re: Daryl McMahon
There's obviously other factors - players back from injury allowing RW to switch formation etc - but would love to see the form guide from the games DMcM was here compared to the corresponding number of games since his departure.

Re: Daryl McMahon
Set pieces were noticeably worse during his stint here. I’m convinced that RW was seriously p*ssed off with the appointment. I mean, you would be wouldn’t you? There’s absolutely no way Wellens said to Lingy “you know what I’d really like? A set piece coach. And your mate Daryl is the only man for the job”Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2024 7:39 am There's obviously other factors - players back from injury allowing RW to switch formation etc - but would love to see the form guide from the games DMcM was here compared to the corresponding number of games since his departure.

Re: Daryl McMahon
I’m sure he’s technically competent. And players coming back from injury had had a massive impact on our upturn.
But you can’t underestimate the negative impact dropping the DoFs mate into an established, successful team would have had.

Re: Daryl McMahon
After that game, Teague was telling anyone who would listen that he had personally sacked McMahon the previous day. Around the same time, Harrold was giving the post-match interview pleading total ignorance of the situation and admitting McMahon had been on the bench with him that day. A couple of days later, the Club finally released the video on YouTube welcoming McMahon to the Club. I sh*t you not.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 10:28 pmWas it after that game it was announced that he had left the club - definitely not been sacked - so he could concentrate on securing a post elsewhere (as it turns out, at Step 3 Hornchurch). The Reverend wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 8:59 pm McMahon’s lasting legacy at Orient will forever be that goal we conceded as a counter attack from our own corner against Derby. Hornchurch 6 points clear with a game in hand over second

Re: Daryl McMahon
McMahon era stats:
Club announced he'd joined prior to the Fleetwood game so have looked at the matches between then and Derby (his departure wasn't announced officially until a bit later but as OyinbO said, Teague was telling literally anyone in earshot that he'd been canned right after that shitfest):
LWWDDDLLDDL - 11pts from 11 games, 1ppg. (Also W1 L2 in the Cups in that time, including defeat to NL Chesterfield).
Since he was binned after Derby:
WLWDWWWD - 17pts from 8 games, 2.125ppg.
Mad.

Re: Daryl McMahon
I don't recall the Club ever announcing his arrival. It was a passing remark made by RW in response to a question by DV in a post-match interview - presumably because he'd been spotted on the bench by a few fans.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2024 10:12 am McMahon stats:

Is there any way of calculating how many goals came from set pieces during those 11 games and how many in the 8 since?Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2024 10:12 am McMahon stats:

Might take some time this afternoon watching highlights from all of those fixtures to work it out.

The only thing I can put this bizarre appointment down to is simply Lingy repaying favours to his mates like we're the Make A Wish Foundation or something.OyinbO wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2024 9:51 amAfter that game, Teague was telling anyone who would listen that he had personally sacked McMahon the previous day.
