Hamas - They have stated their intent. Osama Hamdan (a Hamas official), in an interview with Al-Liwaa newspaper, stated that if they could they would repeat the October 7th attacks again. And again. Their aim is aligned with Iran in preventing Israel from being a 'natural entity' in the region. They will not accept peace or agree to a ceasefire.

Interesting how Hamas were suddenly open to releasing hostages during a pause in hostilities just after Tehran effectively told them they were on their own. But I'm sure that's just a coincidence, and that really all they wanted was the chance to chat with the Israeli's over a cup of tea and slice of cake.

To be fair, Netanyahu was always going to do this once he'd got the majority of Israeli hostages back in exchange for some of the Palestinian hostages he was holding (which people never seem to mention).

Hamas are terrorists, they're undemocratic, they hate women and all that stuff, they're basically the Taliban.

The real question is; If Hamas were somehow to be 'removed', what then follows? I hope that nobody with any brains would want to cheer Hamas onto victory. But the lessons from places such as Iraq and Libya is that, following the removal of despotic regimes, things can always get worse.

Yes I have noticed that. Why do you ask? What is it about what I have said that makes you think I might be okay with that?

Well you mentioned moral equivalency and then talked of a child of 2 being taken by Hamas. I’m just pointing out that it’s not only Hamas that takes children prisoner.
