It’s a fine balancing act with the Kids tickets.
If the club make them too expensive then Dad’s won’t buy them, but if they make them too cheap then the ‘value’ is diminished and maybe they get used 2 or 3 times a season as they aren’t deemed as valuable.
Maybe kids could be offered some kind of loyalty gift from the club shop if they attend a minimum number of games.
Be interesting to see what the club does as it’s not an easy solution.
Only give the discounted tickets as half season tickets... if they're used for over 50% of the time then it gets automatically renewed. If not it gets put back into the pot for someone else to buy.
That sounds a great basis of a sensible way forward, although I personally would suggest the percentage used shou ld be closer to 80%, maybe somewhere in the middle around 65% would be a good place to start ?
With it all being electronic could easily dial that down to 1/4 season if there's need to free up the tickets sooner.
Went for a lower percentage attendance so it doesn't penalise the legitimate users as you don't want to lose those who are interested but can't make every game especially when you take Tuesday nights into consideration.
Also on the ticket resale as posted at the time needs to be £10 to the fan to get useful engagement imo. Or perhaps issue some of the larger rebate in club superstore credit or next year's ST renewal.
People are not buying a kids season ticket when they know their kid is only going to turn up 5 or 6 times a season. There's no point forking out £50 for a ST when you can pay £4 per game.
The issue is with people buying a kids ST for £50 with no intention of ever using it, purely so they can get £125 discount from their adult ST. Scrap the massive discount and Ghost Kids of the North problem will magically disappear.
Again, the club will have the stats but it does seem as if the £5 credit per resold seat isn't enough to get fans engaged, which is a shame. They may well have to increase it to £10 to get it properly working.

Kid tickets would have to be dirt cheap to make up for the extra £125 per adult families would be paying.

Even if legit, why should a kids grandad or uncle get a £125 discount off their ST? Doesn't make any sense.
Offer could be refined, perhaps first adult ST only with a child ST gets a £50 discount? Negating much of the cost of a child ticket.
To expand on my other idea- scrap child STs, full price adult STs in the north, unreserved seating, each adult ST comes with vouchers for five(?) free single child tickets. Child ticket regular price £5.

Then you get no kids going to games because
1. Cost is too much for families - not just admission but food / drink, club shop etc kids want
2. Parents are not going to take kids and risk not being able to find a seat to sit next to their child
If you limit it to 1 adult per season ticket, you are running risk of not getting child as a long term fan, because if that adult can't go the child can't go. allow discount for 2 adults per child, but limit discount so its not cheaper than buying adult ticket in say equivalent seat elsewhere.
The whole issue is a red herring anyway as there are as many empty seats in West, South & East stands on "sold out" games.

Another adult/parent/carer can take the child - season tickets are allowed to be transferred, I believe that's the reason they're now cards so as to make it easier to hand over when needed to.
It was so much easier when you could just rock up on the day. I also miss waking up on a Saturday morning when Orient were away and asking a mate or two if they fancied going to another London game. Plenty of times we squeezed into the North Bank at Highbury etc and saw the big stars of the day.

Things were so much better in the olden days, it's true.
I have such wonderful memories of games in the 80s. Watching someone in the away end kick someone else in the head in the Southampton FA cup game, being picked up and put under my dads arm as we pegged it out of the West Side as Cardiff fans breached the gate and headed in our direction, watching assorted objects fly at us from the back of the South terrace as away fans were kept back whilst we returned to our car. Such halcyon times.

What a bizzare response. I see you have started a new thread about the return of football hooliganism but why in response to my memories about ticketing you speak of it here?
Hooliganism was at its peak in the 70's and 80's but although I acknowledge there were some incidents, little occurred around following Orient in comparison to elsewhere. Maybe it was because of the bigger clubs nearby so those lads that like to "stick up for others" went elsewhere for there fun.

I suggest the cap on children because they are, apparently, the main cause of the empty seats according to many of the other fans who have commented.
If this is wrong, then fair enough and the cause for fans not turning up needs to be identifed.
