Inflation is not great at the moment. But it’s a world problem and not just the UK. We can’t always control our own destiny

Something's got them spooked. Maybe those four are reflecting that, so far, the BoE predictions have not exactly been met:

Yes - same principle as a pandemic. You need to hammer it early doors to keep it under control.

A 0.25% raise in interest rates to 0.5%, will concern those who are very heavily leveraged. Just image a 7-8% mortgage rate, that will have an effect and 5% interest rates which is what is needed.

Inflation look at RPI for more true figure. CPI is rigged.

I would wait until the problems Brexit , the Pandemic , international fuel prices , and supply difficulties have passed. Inflation is an international problem made worst by the last two years turmoil. Whoever is in power would be facing the same issues.

Short term supply issues in both Labour and products contributing to inflation. Just to be clear , I voted remain but I am speaking about inflationary problems not wider issues there may/may not be as a result of leaving

But according to you the T*ries are leading the world in this
Or leading Europe with that .
If you are claiming it's a world problem,
Why are they failing with this ?

No you just listed brexit problems & world problems .

Have a read up about the cause of this current round of inflation. You may then understand why it’s beyond our control.

Ok. So I will humour you one last time. Brexit being done means the moment we left ,as you know , and not the years of post Brexit negotiations. This phase of the pandemic is coming to a close , hopefully it will be the last of it , but the economic fall out will continue for a while yet.

Brexit was done after negotiations
Not as you claim post negotiations .

B*dge got rid of tressamae because he claimed she couldn't sort out the 6 counties question &
Won an Election because he said
" We got brexit done ".

I notice you still forgot to educate me on why the T*ries are failing at dealing with the non pandemic & brexit stuff .

BoE puts rates back up to 0.75%. MPC voted by a majority of 8-1, so pretty conclusive.

Inflation recorded at 6.2% for February (higher than 5.9% predicted by economists).

The annual rate of inflation in all goods was 8.3%, up from 7.2%. The ONS states that this has never been higher since the data series began in January 1989.

I expect some tinkering around the edges in the Spring statement but, f*ck me, we're in for a rough few years.
