So your point is?
I made two points, one about the wearing of masks and one about politicians (of all persuasions) not being able to explain things clearly, particularly to journalists who are trying to catch them out.

I couldn't care less about wealth tax and you're right, it is irrelevant at this moment in time in light of what else is going on.

Maybe you should take the time to read what I post instead of assuming you know who I support and what I think.

The idiocy of this deal is that we will be replacing Huwaweii routers that are 'belieived' to suseceptable to hacking with Cisco ones that are 'known' to be hackable. Where is the sense in that and its costing us £8 billion.

NuneatonO digging at the government for 600 odd thousand jobs gone. If the government hadn't done what it dis it would be millions upon millions. Look at the USA how many lost their jobs 30-40 million.

Whilst it's hard those people lost their jobs it would be a whole lot worse if the government hadn't put its money where its mouth is.

Try to be balanced once in while.

The Government put its money?

Where do you think that the Government get its money from exactly?

It's tax-payers money - just being temporarily loaned back to them.

The alternative would have been millions of people being made homeless and/or starving to death; potentially leading to civil unrest and disorder; such as riots on the streets, looting, etc.

I would also imagine that the repayment terms for this loan will be like getting bailed out temporarily from any other 'loan shark'. Interest-free do you think? I very much doubt it. They'll grab this back with wage freezes; higher taxation on wages/products/services; employment rights eroded; cuts in public services; etc. over the next few years.

I don't personally give a toss about what the Yanks are doing. They are run by an even greater moronic narcissist than the UK! However, for a more meaningful comparison, why not look closer to home; and how other progressive EU Countries are handling their economies and people?

The fact remains that by Cummings pulling Johnson's puppet-strings to lock down far too late, it has cost not only lives but peoples' livelihoods as well.

A lot of the mess that we are in now is due to Johnson & Co. :clown :clown :clown not managing this Pandemic correctly from the outset. You aren't thick......you know this is the truth.

I will be only too pleased to recognise the Tory Party if they ever do something actually worthy of due recognition. That said, I can't imagine that happening any time soon.

So ......
Johnson (as Cummings' puppet) failed in his manipulative scheme to get failing Grayling installed as the head of the 'Intelligence & security committee', the committee with responsibility for national security and releasing the report on the investigation of Russian interference in UK politics. This report was ready for publication before the 2019 election but Johnson suppressed it's publication. Quite staggering, given that the question had been about Russian interference in UK elections!!! What did and does he want to hide???

Couple of days ago Grayling failed again because the ISC elected a Tory MP who (unlike Grayling) actually has some expertise for this post.
Johnson threw his proverbial toys out of the pram because somebody had dared to thwart his/Cummings plan and immediately sacked the newly elected chair of this committee from the Tory party. The actions of an immature and spiteful individual?

Nothing of serious note will be in the report. The Tories, who are so much better at playing politics than anyone else* will then use it forever. Whenever they are asked to be more transparent or a newspaper comes digging on some corruption Jenrick or whomever has partaken in, they'll just say 'remember the Russia report!? You were wrong then and you are wrong now' as a get out.

They are playing it very long and very clever and it is going to pay off handsomely for them.

*for the record I know they are utterly incompetent and hate nearly all of their ideology, but they 'play the game' better than everyone.

It has been an utter farce how the Tory Party have mismanaged this Pandemic. Anyone who thinks otherwise, is basically living in a parallel universe.
Just a quick update a week after this person arrived from Egypt.

A week since his arrival - no contact made whatsoever to check that he is self-isolating (which incidentally he is).

Maybe, (a mask-less) Agent Thor has him under surveillance; whilst camped out in a tree?

Coronavirus leaves UK firms unprepared for no-deal Brexit

Many companies are now less prepared for a no-deal Brexit than they were a year ago and have yet to make any preparations for such an outcome, ministers are being warned. As a result of the coronavirus crisis, stockpiles have been wound down, Brexit-related staff redeployed and cashflows seriously depleted. Yet a potential no-deal outcome is now less than six months away:

What's incorrect within The Guardian article then?

As for The S*n.......I wouldn't want that godforesaken slimefest infecting my web browser thanks.

The Daily Mail however is generally good for a laugh though - particularly some of the comments from the 50 Shades of Grey Gammons!

Sign of the times, no one wants to admit that anything that contradicts what they say is actually the truth. Our dear little flowers of Tory politicians want nothing to do with being asked awkward questions, even if they are justified. Boris refusing to meet Andrew Neill, ministers banned from Newsnight and Channel 4 news. Used to be mutual respect between politicians and the press, not any more, they get the treatment they deserve.

Boris Johnson: no reason why Brexit deal cannot be sealed in July

Boris Johnson has said there is no reason why the outline of a Brexit deal cannot be sealed by the end of July
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... n-boost-eu

So how is it all going then Johnson :clown ?

There's just 12 days left in July...........and you appear to have gone a little quiet on this?

Or are you going to fail on this deadline as well; just like you did on 31st October 2019?

The political elite will do what they want, when they want and they don't care for the rest of us.

Brexit is done and dusted, if he does it this month next month or by the original timeline of Dec it don't matter. We will see sunshine, it will be better and I really hope for a better society that emerges from everything of the past 7 months.

On a side note I see Prince William is backing the calls to end homelessness, I hope we can do this ASAP.

Indeed.

Whilst on the subject of school kids, as pointed out in Private Eye this week:

£3 - Allowance per day of Covid Summer Food Fund to provide equivalent of free school lunches for poorest children, which government resisted introducing until Marcus Rashford intervened.

£10 - Allowance per diner that the government is providing to anyone who fancies a meal out in August.

Tory MPs now want TicToc banned because it 'collects personal data' and 'may pass it to the Chinese Government'.( I cannot for the life of me think why they would want videos of kids dancing.) For the MPs information the collecting of peoples personal data has been going on for decades by Microsoft, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Google and hundreds of other tech companies including Cambridge Analytica who you used illegally in an election campaign. You have done absolutely nothing about this situation with these American companies but because the Donald says jump its a national security matter. Stinking hypocracy.

The UK is not alone in looking at TikTok, and with some justification, eg:

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfr ... t-politics

That's not to say there aren't concerns over the other companies you mention but to put this down to the current UK government being hypocritical and only doing it because Trump says so seems wide of the mark to me.

I very much wanted to stay away from the politics on here because, quite simply, its bad for my health but I couldn't let it go without mentioning that the Tories voted against the new clause 17 to the trade bill yesterday which would have protected the NHS and Health and Care services from being part of any trade deal with the US (or whoever). This pretty much demonstrates that Corbyn was right when he revealed that the Tories were completely full of sh*t when they denied having plans to flog off the NHS. The NHS was always on the table. There's loads of other stuff in there as well which if made part of a trade deal would remove things currently within our democratic control and place them completely outside of our democratic control but... we're taking back control dontcha know.
