NuneatonO digging at the government for 600 odd thousand jobs gone. If the government hadn't done what it dis it would be millions upon millions. Look at the USA how many lost their jobs 30-40 million.
Whilst it's hard those people lost their jobs it would be a whole lot worse if the government hadn't put its money where its mouth is.
Try to be balanced once in while.
The Government put
its money?
Where do you think that the Government get
its money from exactly?
It's
tax-payers money - just being temporarily loaned back to them.
The alternative would have been millions of people being made homeless and/or starving to death; potentially leading to civil unrest and disorder; such as riots on the streets, looting, etc.
I would also imagine that the repayment terms for this loan will be like getting bailed out temporarily from any other 'loan shark'. Interest-free do you think? I very much doubt it. They'll grab this back with wage freezes; higher taxation on wages/products/services; employment rights eroded; cuts in public services; etc. over the next few years.
I don't personally give a toss about what the Yanks are doing. They are run by an even greater moronic narcissist than the UK! However, for a more meaningful comparison, why not look closer to home; and how other progressive EU Countries are handling their economies and people?
The fact remains that by Cummings pulling Johnson's puppet-strings to lock down far too late, it has cost not only lives but peoples' livelihoods as well.
A lot of the mess that we are in now is due to Johnson & Co.
not managing this Pandemic correctly from the outset. You aren't thick......you know this is the truth.
I will be only too pleased to recognise the Tory Party if they ever do something actually worthy of due recognition. That said, I can't imagine that happening any time soon.
