Re: Meet the Manager

Northampton twice behind in the game but came back both times to equalise - a bit like the game against us but Oxford couldn't nick a last minute winner. Hopefully that might have sapped a bit of their energy whereas this time, it is our turn to have a week off and hopefully prepare properly. I hop...

Re: RW: squad isn’t strong enough

We are too slow because we are not prepared to pay wages that this division demands for good players. We only had a small budget left over in the window that could not attract any good experienced players. The club states that we have a transfer committee that sits down regularly to target players ...

Re: RW: squad isn’t strong enough

Richie clearly not happy with the Jan transfer window, going as far as having to be given a dressing down by Travis for public criticism. Clearly he holds Ling responsible for transfer activity. During an interview back in Jan Wellens basically said transfer dealings are nothing to do with him, it’...

Read it this morning. Usual Nigel combination of intellectual insight and clever market positioning of the Orient. Even managed to get a name drop in there!

Re: Last night's key moment

Forde has improved immensely since his first couple of games when I wasn’t impressed. He looks far more confident now and must have a fair chance of being offered a deal in the Summer. Forde clearly has a better appreciation of what he has to do for 90 minutes than he did 3 months ago. He would hav...

Re: Manager of the month

Key question: why IS our Richie such a good manager? Is it partly because he never quite fulfilled his great potential as a player? Answers on a postcard… Both he and JE have that leadership "X Factor" that I'm still trying to figure out if it's nature or nurture that sets them apart from...

No thanks. Don’t like this idea at all. What’s wrong with a bit of dissent? Football can't be totally sanitised. If I was a ref, I'd be sending 2 a game off. Ignore their competence, would you do that job for the grief the get. Also, all of the tactical fouls that stop break aways will now get a ha...

Were these your bog standard oats or your pinhead ones? Nothing wrong with the former but the latter are 👌 Not tried the pinhead ones and I cannot get on with the softness of overnight oats - but porridge is my morning staple food. Sainsburys be good to yourself oats hit the spot for me. As for the...

On a lovely big pitch we will run them ragged. Early enthusiasm from Vale will give way to chasing shadows.

Re: Richie Apology Video

Sounds like a bloke who has received a bollocking from the guy who pays his wages. Travis has held leadership roles in huge corporations. Telling a 3rd div football manager to wind his neck in is probably well within his wheelhouse. Good top level leaders like Nigel can give managers like Ritchie a...

NT also said that Peterborough turned down £3m for Hector. That would have been £600k (20%) our share. He also said the board are looking for new investors in case we get to championship. Plenty of people on here putting the boot in on NT. I tell you something I would take him every day rather than...

I've slated Moncur a lot this season thought he was good yesterday but if the fella is never fit enough to play 90 mins then he has to go. Moncur will be more important to Ritchie's side next season if (a) we do not sign El Miz or (b) we do not sign an equivalent replacement for El Miz. I have no i...

Re: RW seriously pi55ed off

Totally agree, I have said on many occasions that the club need much more serious investment if we are to achieve a further promotion and keep RW as our manager. The ambition that RW has is what makes him successful, unfortunately the club seem to be quite happy to wallow in this division worrying ...

I thought Brown had a very strong game and even ignoring the goals Forde is showing an understanding of what he has to do to play regular football with his defensive side of the game.

A mad game where the opposition have zero attempts at goal but score two!

Re: RW seriously pi55ed off

I think at this stage Richie would do well to button it. We are not doing a Carlisle and bottom after winning promotion and a big reason for that is the manager has been given a healthy budget and backed. We lost Agyei in pre season who was a big signing and then fetched in Jordan Graham another bi...

Re: RW seriously pi55ed off

On a good run of form, have shipped two players who weren't good enough for this level and never fit regardless - it's a weird energy to be this negative and sours what has obviously been a really positive relationship. It's this kind of attitude that will put off bigger employers. Owners don't lik...

Re: Ed Turns recalled

Only having 3 CBs in a squad is a dangerous game. We lost 2 in one game this time last season. Having 4 is a bit of a luxury for a mid-table not going up/down side. If we run short of centre backs, wonder in an emergency, as to if Alan Thompson could be recalled from loan at Barnet ? Or his twin, A...
