Re: Danny Macklin abuse
People are expressing concerns about LOFT and it's involvement with Mat R***r. They're now pointing out something that's fairly obvious. Rather than engage or discuss, you'll dismiss it. It's how Loft have tended to deal with any issue raised on here and funnily enough, how Mat R***r dealt with alm...

Re: Danny Macklin abuse
OK, fine. Some people here think that we can't publicly show support for a fellow board member accused of racism, nor can we publicly show support for a club employee getting such vile personal abuse from OTF-types that he's cancelling his Twitter account. I guess you can. Would like to know if you...

OK, clearly I'm going to have to self-analyse every word I put on Twitter even more than I already do. Thanks for the feedback.

Re: Danny Macklin abuse
Lofts ‘regardless of the issue’ is still really troubling. Eh? I posted that tweet, all it means is that no matter how deeply one feels about a particular situation, personal abuse is never acceptable. Clearly today is another 'have a pop at LOFT' day for whatever tiny word or detail someone can fi...

Re: Club announcement re Racist comments
Fair play to Pedant for mounting a defence Seem to remember when people brought this up before and people said they'd stopped their subs over it the response was "Oh you're not a member so your opinion is irrelevant" I've never said anything of the sort (and it is usually me posting in re...

Re: Club announcement re Racist comments
Loft's view seems to be "Heh - It's just OFF being OFF." - to me it doesn't present well but I'm just one person. Can't say that I cared particularly then or now but it was partly why didn't feel like joining. To be clear, nothing in our mini-statement refers to Mat's behaviour at matches...

Re: Club announcement re Racist comments
Not going to prolong this, but it seems strange that a board member of the Leyton Orient Fans Trust, is unconcerned that his views don't tally with most of the, ahem, Fans. What are the views of most fans? Genuine question, because we've got 31 likes (at the time of writing) to this on Twitter agai...

Re: Club announcement re Racist comments
By all means say that you're pleased that there is no evidence of any racist comments but "full support" is unwarranted and not, I believe, a stance that most fans would agree with. 20-odd years of being on the board of a fans' group has taught me not to suppose that what I think is what ...

Re: Club announcement re Racist comments
Its all coming out now. Anything else you would like to confess to? Ps what is an "external director"? Well, there was that time 30-odd years ago that I got chucked out of Stoke's ground for chucking a till roll on the pitch (during the paper chucking craze). Still got the ejection notice...

Re: Club announcement re Racist comments
I do like to remind the opposition coaching staff quite vocally to stay in the technical area, when they go wandering off to the side of the pitch. Not to mention reminding the 4th official equally vocally to do their job in keeping them there. Pretty sure I've called various players over the years ...

Re: Club announcement re Racist comments
Is he still LOFTS representative ? Surely they need to talk to him He is indeed still a board member of LOFT, as am I. We've discussed little else since Saturday evening, both with and without him as appropriate (obviously he's recused from any LOFT response/actions in this matter). As such, I've j...

Re: Pronouns
No, they shouldn't be using the pronoun 'we' because 'they' isn't plural in this context. Most people already use 'they' in certain contexts to refer to a person whose gender they don't know: "The doctor called about my X-ray" "What did they say?" Strictly speaking, you might sa...

Re: Oldam Fans Banned for complaining
The real question is do we travel to Oldham and join their protestations or stay away and deprive him of the revenue? The 'Push the Boundary' protest group has so far not been advocating away fans to stay away, rather to show support to what Oldham fans are going through. I would not be at all surp...

Reposting this from the Tory Watch thread, since this now has its own topic. Not really been following this. What has Ron Martin done that's so bad? Basically he's gambled the football club in order to build their mythical new 22k-seater stadium at Fossetts Farm. The longer the stadium debacle has dragged on - over 20 years now - the more debt has been racked up by the club...

Re: James bond 007
It makes sense if you look at the Craig-era Bond as a standalone arc telling the full story timeline of 007. Hence why his films included so many references to previous films and acted as origin stories for other, we'll known characters. It's not just a continuation of the character like the other ...
