RW to say 'should've' within the first 10 seconds of the post-match interview.

The perfect opportunity to invite a load of NL scouts and put Howes in the shop window.

I have no idea what they paid for Forde, or what his wages are but, as an example, Bristol Rovers are paying Ruel somewhere in the region of 5.5k to 6k a week.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 11:24 pm We needed him . Again , were we unable to compete in the transfer market ?

It all seems a far cry from 'kids for a quid', 'bring a mate for a fiver', and complimentary guest tickets for ST holders. And a doughnut.

Re: Blackpool next manager
Only an out of work manager would take the Blackpool job right now. It's not the most stable environment, and the remit will be to work with what you've got, make the odd desperate signing in January, and, at the very minimum, a strong showing in the play-offs

The plan from Spurs might be to give him half a season in League One, see how he does, then the second half of the season in the Championship - as with Harry Kane all those years ago.

Re: Moncur off
I think it's becoming clear that the 2 or 3 players that RW wants to bring in are pending moving GM on, and getting a decent enough loan deal to free up enough funds. It's probably not realistic to expect a permanent deal with another club taking on the full wages.

Re: League one preview remark about LOFC
The distinct lack of ambition comment has to be put into context. Half of the teams in League One have been throwing silly money around and inflating transfer fees and wages way above their means. I get the feeling that, if we survive this year, we'll be up against a lot of teams heavily in debt the...

Re: George Moncur......
I get the impression that Moncur lacks self-awareness with regard to his contribution to the team. We do need to be careful with any criticism though. Remember when he got substituted against Doncaster? Minutes later his best mate, JC, was so angered that he sent biblical floods and a plague of para...

I would love to see Klopp's enthusiasm and style of play imposed on the England team. Sadly, he has the one thing that the FA don't like - a personality.

Re: First Half vs Hornchurch
If we're including players that trained with the club for weeks prior to signing, then Ollie O'Neill can be included. I wouldn't count that as a trialist though. A free agent getting 45 minutes to impress on a ploughed field in July is vastly different to a young player with a contract elsewhere tra...

Re: The Colonel has left
I remember RW saying that Sanders and Agyei had come from clubs where they didn't have to work out of possession, and were suffering injuries while they adjusted to our style of play.
Maybe RW now sees Sanders as not fitting into our system, so happy to replace him with someone that does?

Hakeeb Adelakun might be worth a look.
6'3" winger with pace, 27, originally from East London. Just been released by Lincoln after a loan spell at Doncaster where he scored 9 in 19.
