Football words that you rarely hear elsewhere
Was having a discussion with mates about football reporting in the press and on TV and words that journalists use that you really only associate with football and don't really hear used elsewhere an din everyday speech. Words like "brandish" as in "the ref is going to brandish a yellow card here, Martin" and "melee" as in "now most of the Everton bench have piled into the melee, Gary".
Which other words do you all only associate with football reporting/commentary?

The winner is the late Arthur Montford's - "There's a stramash in the goal mouth"

The new phrase I never remember hearing until recently
"low block"
Used to be "sitting deep" then I heard Alex Scott say it a year or two back now all the coaches and pundits say it

“That’s exactly 90 minutes and, yes, there’s the final whistle.”
Or
“He’s chanced his arm and it’s come off!”
Or
“If that effort had gone in, it would have been a goal!”
