Maidenhead v Orient matchday thread

Post by gshaw »

Just signed up for the ticket for this one today, making the most of streaming while it lasts :D

Getting close to the finalised squad now barring a really dramatic end to pre-season, be interesting to see how we play with a proper RB in place at long last.

It will be more interesting to see how our strikers perform. Big day for Drinan against non league opposition as he needs to make an impact.

Heard King Kenny was after another 5 players before the start of the season; 4 now after signing Tom James.

Interesting, that'd make it 11 in for around 15 out, would give a bit of a healthier look to the squad

They've just emailed to say no commentary on the video stream so seems unlikely

Doubt it Maidenhead have just emailed to say that due to “circumstances beyond their control “ there is no audio on the streaming.

Hello from S Wales. Streaming - vision but no sound. Found the application process more challenging than the stream last season - could make out what was meant by 'home' and 'away' choices. Pressed 'away' and hoped for the best.

Goal Pratley, Barnes misses on the line with a header but rebound falls to Pratley who finishes on the half volley 1-0 to Orient

With the lack of commentary you get to hear the instructions being barked out from the touchline. Jackett and presumably Gallen take no prisoners with what they want that's for sure 🤭

Sadly for Barnes his trial ends prematurely with what looks a fairly nasty injury, hobbled off supported by physios

Who's replaced him from the bench?

From 2018 Southampton loaned Barnes to Yeovil where he made 8 appearances with 0 goals
Southampton then loaned him to Eastleigh where he made 14 appearances and scored 2 goals.
On the 22nd February Oldham after a successful trial to the end of the season with 4 appearances and 0 goals.
Marcus Barnes 2 goals in 26 matches and that was playing in the National League.
Our club had previously stated we were only looking at players that had our level experience that could take us into League 1,surely we are not backtracking and going for unproven at our level which are cheap and cheerful ?
