Both teams agreed but the FA said no. When they got it right it was too late. Shambles.

Like it's such an important competition, what difference does it make how many subs there are?

Massive one for the players who miss out. Massive. Maybe the only time in their career they get the chance to be part of a Wembley cup final playing squad.

I’d say that makes a difference.

Just another example of the beaureaucrats ruining things for players and fans. Both clubs agreed but a subcommittee of suits couldn't get over themselves.

If only they took so much interest in policing how clubs are ran or the imbalance in funding, youth development and TV money eh

How many subs have been allowed in every other game in this competition?

Why did you take my comment to be negative?
I meant have as many as you want

Ridiculous that they even entertained our daft request in the first place.

Not sure what is more funny - us trying to change the rules of a competition whilst still in it, or the club’s pious statement.

I don’t get why the club have gone public and tried to make an issue out of this? It makes us look all Bertie big bollocks, expecting the non league world to revolve around us.

My guess is we’ve told the 17 players who’s in the squad prematurely and had to let 2 of them down with the news.

Leaving aside the changing the rules just for us part. The fact that they couldn't agree because Fylde were already on the bus seems a bit odd.

Presumably the whole Fylde squad and their kits are travelling in case of last minute unexpected events.

If they'd already agreed, why wouldn't they still agree, even at the last minute. Couldn't they get hold of them?

I know it’s a Sunday but we haven’t fallen as far as pub league football yet. You can’t just phone up the manager of the dog and duck and ask him to let you play a couple of ringers if you buy them a beer after.

Yeah seems odd for the club to spin it in this way. Is there a precedent for changing the number of subs in a competition just because one team has lots of players?

I know it's a tinpot trophy but hypothetically if we got to the final of the JPT next season up against a bigger team with a bigger squad like Sunderland and they made this request I would fully expect us to say no as it would benefit them more than us.

Makes us look a bit small time.

This.

No problem with the club making the request but the reaction is embarrassing
