Re: Highlights O's v Stevenage
Nice gift from Stevenage for the first, calm head to finish it.
Was that McAnuff racing down the wing for the second? Incredible athlete for a 39 y/o to be turning that level of performance in, really noticed the difference with him in the starting XI

Realistically looking out for your players best interests
Is Great Management in my book
A bad Manager would leave him on the pitch .
I'll tell you what meet in the middle
Astute Management .

It’s not fair to call the first a gift. That’s part of our game plan, high pressing the opponents deep in their half.
Yes that was Jobi and yes you’re right, he makes a massive difference.

The decision had already been made to bring Dennis on for Jobi at 1-0, when the game was far from wrapped up.

Re: Highlights O's v Stevenage
Thank goodness for Vigoroux.
Two well-taken goals from JMD and especially Wiko's first time shot.
Jobi's run down the wing to make that goal was premier league stuff.

He was still on the pitch when we went 2 up regardless of when a decision was madeRonnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 8:23 am![]()

Just shows Ross felt the game was done even at 1-0 up.
Still you carry on your hate of Ross the Boss &
his great astute decisions

Yep, great addition to the team.
To be honest, I’d forgotten how ropey we were for most of the first half and how lucky we were to be 0-0 at half time.

Looking after your staff is not Deemed great management In my book. Just routine management. Maybe even decent management. Sensible management. Cautious management. But Great Management to me suggests he was taking a course of action that other managers are unlikely to have done or even thought about.
Taking some players off once the job is done Is pretty routine management in my book. To be expected especially given our bench.
Taking Ruel off at half time for example was not great management.

Agree, good, sensible management say what you want, GREAT, not really. Most likely a per-planned decision made in discussion with Jobi at halftime. Well dear old Tuffers loves to over-egg all things Ross related, it makes his day, so just let him enjoy his harmless windups !Dohnut wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 9:04 amLooking after your staff is not Deemed great management In my book. Re: Highlights O's v Stevenage
After watching this video, OMG, what a howler from the Stevenage defender for our first goal, second goal, Jobi running down the wing like a 20 year year old, so amazing, Wilko took his goal well. Lastly like the look of Akinola, plays like a proper defender should, in his position at right back, does not dive in and sell himself, jockeys his man and keep his body at the correct angle and position that a full back should do, he is a good lad.

Re: Highlights O's v Stevenage
just the sensible and logical thing to do and most likely pre-planned with Jobi and the coaching team.
Having playing football since around 7 years old and after a ruptured knee injury, running teams with ex pros playing for me, to me it was just the sensible and logical thing to do and most likely pre-planned with Jobi and the coaching team, I mean after all Jobi is experienced enough now to know when it is time for him to make way for a fresh pair of legs ! Moving on, I just wonder how much of the recent improvement is down to other things other than purely RE's ideas, Danny Senda and Jobi have far more practical experience than R-oss and also have a big input as to what goes on behind the scenes, it is far more about the team of players and coaching team as a whole rather than just the one man R-oss ! Long term let us see how we get on when we play against better teams and let us hope we continue to pick up points along the way.tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 9:50 amOh Sid & we were gettin on so well .Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 9:28 amAgree, good, sensible management say what you want, GREAT, not really. Re: Highlights O's v Stevenage
Did not watch the game Live but going by the brief highlights Vigoroux looked to have had a very good game and everytime i watch Jobi the guy is pure class!!
Oh how i wish he was 28 and there is something about him that as a club owner i would want him at the club for many years to come.
Stevenage should have scored in that first piece of action, we pressed well for 1st goal and Jobi magic with good finish by Wilko.
On Jobi substitution i go with good management and more than likely input from Jobi himself.
