In an ideal fantasy world, we SHOULD be setting up with players in right positions playing in a positive 442 formation .

Team should be in my humble opinion but probably won't be :

Vigaroux (probably best keeper in the league. )

Judd RB (looks a far better player than Thomas and Akinola who's not a RB. Ling is not league two standard.)
Turley CB (commanding with a bit of bite)
Happe CB (decent at this level)
Widdowson LB (standard league two journeyman - does a job at Left back. Centre Back - forget it - baffling decision.)

Brophy LW - best attributes are running at defences. Totally wasted at left back . Bonkers decision
Jobi CM (class - pity hes not 32 ) Without him there is NO creativity at all in midfield and its sideways and backwards tippy tap passes.
Clay CM (best we have got. Should have recruited another midfielder as opposed to getting in yet another right back.)
JMD RW - best attributes are running at defences from the right. Talented . Stick him on the other wing and give defences something to think about.

Ruel CF - clever feet. Always looking to shoot - wasted on the wing . - Baffling decision
Johnson CF natural goal poacher. Scoring goals whilst feeding off scraps . good to see him feeding off Brophy and JMD on the wings and playing closely with Ruel.

I agree Mate, 4-4-2 is the ONLY formation players at this level know how to play. Anything else is too complicated and confuses them !

Play 4-4-2, pass forward and get crosses into the box and we will win every game. Simple As That!

It does seem to be a reflex, for fans to call for 4-4-2 when we're on poor form.

I'd be curious to see if Cisse can perform well in a 4-4-2. As far as I can tell, he sits deep and doesn't press - which would leave Clay to run around like a headless chicken, and might require the wide players to do more defensive work too.

Why buy all the fancy gadgets and go through FA training and get payed good money and how can you call yourself a great coach if you are playing 4-4-2.There are no sophisticated passing lanes/angles and very little complexity. I want my boss burning the midnight oil and spending all week on his iPad trying to extract marginal gains from 4-2-3-1.

Not that it matters if Judd is injured or not as he's never played but if that's the case , Turley at right back with Coulson in the middle. He's slow admittedly but experienced with a lot more know how than Akinola at this stage. Be interesting to see what balls Embleton draws out of the hat tonight in the name of 'rotation'. To me, that's just an easy get out clause.Does anyone really know what Ross's best team is ? We will see what unfolds later !
