Ross
I've not been critical of the Ross since he took over the job and always backed him , I'm now getting very near to the stage that I want to join the brigade calling for his head
he's got to improve quickly in my opinion or we could find ourselves in a relegation dogfight

Re: Boss
I think Bigron there are many, like me, who desperately want him to succeed, whilst at the same time feel that he was not the right man for the job and to a degree pushed into it, despite clearly not wanting it, by Ling.
His Learner plates can be consigned to the bin and he can now rightly be judged on performances and results, especially given the mass of support he has from really experienced people. He has an amazing support network at the club.
But it’s early days. And whilst league performances are in my opinion way below par given the squad we have, time will tell if he has what it takes to be a decent Head Coach. I hope he has. I’m sure we all hope he has.
No excuses next Saturday.

Re: Boss
2 weeks without training before the loses.
Not a good setup for 2 games a week for weeks.
Issues with fitness are an obvious consequence of this.
So give a bit of slack, things will turn round.

Re: Boss
Let’s face it, these short term reactions are always going to be an issue for Embleton whilst he is HC at the club.
Even at the outset he was not universally considered the best choice to take the club forward after JE’s death -notwithstanding his initial “ interim” status. Those doubts were justified by results first time round, leading to some anger amongst a growing number of supporters before RE voluntarily stood down saying that the HC job wasn’t for him and reverting to assistant.
After the seemingly never ending “ process “ that the club went through to appoint Carl Fletcher and the subsequent four week fiasco of his spell in charge I think an increased number of people felt that an experienced “ operator” was needed to come in and sort out the issues on the field ( and perhaps off the field too given the alleged dissent etc amongst some players).
The club - incorrectly imho - went a different way and chose to reappoint Embleton who was either persuaded or had a change of heart - about his ability to manage the club. I think many fans have not been persuaded or had a change of heart about RE’s abilities and unless he can start getting improved results these voices will continue to get louder.

Re: Boss
Not a fan of R-oss but to be fair, a lot of disruption has happened, so let things settle down a bit before we rush to make hasty judgements.
I will be surprised if we achieve anything under R-oss other than a mid table finish. This has been a horrible year and looks like it is not going to get better for a long time yet, let us hope we can all get through it safely and can only hope for better times ahead.

Re: Boss
Its interesting to see person by person realise he hasnt got it. It's nothing about the 5 games so far for me. There's wanting him to succeed and then theres knowing he never will. sad but true.
Whilst he stays as manager, Leyton Orient are held back. No fault of his but of the 'decision' makers who put him there.
As i've been saying for about a year now, unfortunately, we'll just have to wait until he does so badly there's no choice but to replace him. Shame we are in this situation.

Re: Boss
Losing the Cheltenham game was understandable. The draw at Barrow was a good effort having to play 85mins with 10 men.
The defeat at Walsall was the most disappointing, with all the talk beforehand of imposing ourselves on games and being gifted the lead we didn't capitalise on it.
We never looked secure at the back and had little positive drive from the midfield.
Ross needs to rethink the formation and the too many square pegs in round holes happening in player selection
Hoping for a big improvement Saturday, I think we will get it if Ross is brave enough to make the changes that are needed.

Re: Boss
I agree with you that I cannot see R-oss as anything more than a stop-gap appointment, but with the financial situation as it is, as with some other clubs, with money so tight, lower league clubs especially cannot afford the pay offs that entail getting rid of their managers and getting new ones in. I think for the time being, we have to make the best of what we already have in place.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Thu Oct 15, 2020 8:52 am Its interesting to see person by person realise he hasnt got it. Re: Boss
We are stuck with some conference level players- particularly in defence. We were probably too nice in awarding new contracts to some after promotion. Next year they will be gone and we may see an improvement. Its not all Ross's fault.

Re: Boss
I don’t believe we have good enough players in our squad. The head coach/manager might tinker with the team, put players in different positions but ultimately it’s down to the quality that we have on the field. When a 38 year old keeps getting MOM mentions, that tells you everything you need to know.
