Martin Ling
Where was our Director of Football tonight?
He's on a six-figure salary, is busy recruiting all of his chums, and yet we can't afford to pay for COVID tests, even when half the squad are falling ill.
You lot can be mugged off if you like, but I proper lost it when Travis started to talk about the "partnership" with the fans - they'll get no more money out of me this season if they don't sort this particular situation out.

How many times is it now that you've not bought a season ticket?OyinbO wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 9:47 pm Where was our Director of Football tonight?

Any evidence Ling snr is on six figures or that covid stuff is his responsibility?OyinbO wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 9:47 pm Where was our Director of Football tonight?

I wonder if anything has happened this year that has impacted our finances and therefore affected incoming transfers.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 10:36 pm He aint wrong. We lost Marv and are replacing him with Joe Widdowson

Yeah, it’s almost as if him and RE weren’t talking about signing a CB, a striker and using the loan market, slap bang in the middle of the pandemicSmendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 10:46 pmI wonder if anything has happened this year that has impacted our finances and therefore affected incoming transfers.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 10:36 pm He aint wrong. Re: Martin Ling
He’s the Director of Football. We had several players unwell for up to a week, yet coming to work in the middle of a pandemic. What does he get he get paid to do, strut around the club pretending he’s in charge and then go into hiding when even his ball boy fronts up to the fans?Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 10:14 pmAny evidence Ling snr is on six figures or that covid stuff is his responsibility?OyinbO wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 9:47 pm Where was our Director of Football tonight?

Re: Martin Ling
Signed all of the players that got us out of the league in 2 seasons, so yeah. It kinda was. Don't worry though, football is infinite and we can't always get promotion every other season. So even if he does get us into League One in the next year or two, we may stay there for 5 years then he can go and you can be right.

Re: Martin Ling
Don’t bother. If any fan dares to hold any to account for their conduct at our football club they get called negative. We aren’t allowed to question decision making. Especially when that decision making could land us In hot water.
They work for LOFC - accept they are 100% competent and move on

Re: Martin Ling
You don't have to be an epidemiologist to think maybe something is amiss when several of your staff simultaneously become unwell during a global pandemic when it's still the fag end of summer. You just have to have watched a bit of TV and be able to think.
They obviously considered the possibility, as Embleton openly dismissed it in his post-match interview last week. And that's without them having them tested. This bit makes it even worse IMO - they admitted that they were aware, wondered if it could be COVID, but didn't bother getting them tested, and asked them to keep coming to work.
Difficult to plead ignorance in this light, isn't it? Laziness, greed, indifference, recklessless maybe... but they can't say they weren't aware of the risk.

Re: Martin Ling
We don’t know the conversations behind closed doors but I’m sure, in the current climate, that this sort of stuff gets signed off by the man who ‘is responsible for the football side throughout the whole club’. I would guess that it’s not a coincidence he wasn’t on the Q&A.
If you are a director in any company you are held accountable for your decisions, good and bad, and I don’t think this would be any different.
