Well, after 6 months we finally get to review proper matches and preview league games again on The Orient Hour show.
It's been a tough time for everyone and the programme has faced its challenges. From having to do podcasts only for several weeks to returning in June to the studio, the team of presenters have somehow come up with material to create a programme that has hopefully kept listeners entertained and given fans a little Orient fix for the week. Over 30 shows or podcasts have been put out during that period and what a wonderful response we got from all those we contacted who happily gave their time to record their interviews. Massive thanks to our team of presenters, Darin Burrows, Barry Galvin, Steve Tongue, Lee Boyce, Trevor Singfield, Billy Herring, Jamie Stripe, Sam Munday, Stuart Minchin, Glen Wilkie, Dave Victor and Mat R***r. And again a thanks to our wonderful guests who appeared and helped us to keep going. Can I add for the benefit of those who doubt the listening figures. We can see how many are online, ie if 6000 are logged in we can see that number on the screen and it going up or down for each show, the FM figures are always an estimate and the listen again/later audience is a recorded figure, also the show is registering an above average figure for the station as interest in Orient has grown. A lot of that down to the good work of the clubs commercial activity. Also local stations across the country saw their listening figures increase during lockdown as people wanted local info. Anyway, we are delighted that we are registering the figures we are getting. Thanks

Keep up the good work Andy you are really appreciated by Orient fans for providing great entertainment, memories and in some cases breaking news about the club.
I remember the days when the only media attention the club received was every week in the local papers such as the Gazette, Guardian and Recorder. Even then i was excited every Friday getting the Hackney Gazette for some snippets of news.

Ah so the club are a 'client' are they? Just confirmed the shows stooge status.

A couple of other points- there's no 'login' to listen to the show. I'm sure they can get page visit figures but many of these will be bots etc
There is an obvious benefit to the station if their commercial guy inflates the listener figures.

PW you can listen live online by clicking the listen live link, these are accurate. You could argue every station inflates their figures for commercial reasons couldn't you. Apart from that being fraudulent, you can't really go around gaining advertisers by quoting completely false figures. The station has been going years and quite simply the audience is growing. We are not the clubs stooges and there was an initial agreement with regard to the show being guaranteed guests etc which is where this 'client' term originated, I don't think the station were prepared to broadcast a show without an agreed cooperation from the club at that time, and I think the club wanted certain things guaranteed by the station. 4 years later and we have a good relationship with the club and where possible will help to promote club activities both on field and commercial. In return as do the other pod shows we have an understanding with the club that they will supply guests on a rota that means everyone gets a fair share of club guests. In no way are we censored, but also in no way will we be deliberately disrespectful or over critical of a player etc. We try and take the middle ground and I think for the most part it works well.
