Pubs reopening - Will you go?

Post by Currywurst and Chips »

Looks like pubs will be reopening circa 4th July with reduced social distancing (1 - 1.5M).

Masks, screens, table service, drink limits and giving details at the door all mooted added measures.

Will you be rushing down the local for drinks? Or staying away for a while?

All my locals have giant beer gardens and are in quite sleepy areas too so may be tempted.

No, but a week after the local Harvester re-opens (to give them time to settle into good practices) Mrs NES and I will be there for our non-stop salad bowl followed by a trip to Cineworld (that's if both are open :!: )

Not for me personally. People here aren't making any effort to social distance when walking around streets/park etc so can only imagine it being worse in an environment where people have been drinking.

There will be no non stop salad bowl. Buffets are a total no no.

I will go to a pub where I can sit outside. Though sitting outside by Green Man roundabout would not be good for my health.

Definitely will be getting a lunchtime pint in a country pub garden, provided they aren’t rammed and it doesn’t take ages to get served. Doubt I’ll be rushing inside for a sesh with mates, though (probably not allowed, anyway).

Not sure how they would police a 'sesh' though as they will have enough on their plates. There was talk of limiting the number of drinks but how is it possible to enforce. It will be just down to people using there common sense, which as we've seen on many an occasion is in pretty short supply in this country and with alcohol involved, no chance.

If we are forced back into lockdown again will they provide a streaming service tho, that what you've got ask yourself before making the purchase.

A five mile walk along the South Downs and a pint outside The Juggs in Kingston will be on our to-do list.

Probably not, hate sitting outside in the heat plagued by all manner of insects especially wasps
Also got a fair stock of beer in and will carry on working my way through that

Hoping to get over to the near continent before the summer is out and will partake there.
They usually have canopies outside their cafes, table service and food is decent too.

Suppose it could work if everyone acted sensibly.

No chance of that happening though

Nope.

Can't abide sitting outside in a beer garden.

If I can't sit at the bar with mates, chatting and staring out the optic bottles, I won't bother.

Nope. As I've got older sitting in cramped smelly pubs has become less and less attractive anyway.

Not for a couple of weeks at least for me.

Will give it time so that the stale out of date beer is consumed and the desperate pub goers can get their fix first

Make the most of it as they'll be closed again by August. This is madness, 1,000 people still being tested positive in a day means it's far to early. The science bloke on the radio said if we had 1,000 a day in march we'd be locking down not opening up. He said you enter a pandemic at elevator speed but have to come out by using the stairs. This is far too much too soon and in the long run will cost the country a hell of a lot more than sitting it out a couple of months longer.
