But the video is a great example of social media pilling onto someone without knowing the details.

But the video is a great example of social media pilling onto someone without knowing the details. You only see her reaction, you don't know what the bloke did or said, you don't even have evidence that he is bird watching. The woman seems very distressed but since the video was posted, she's apparently lost her job, and lost her dog. Can imagine she's feeling pretty bad right now whilst social media judges her guilty and ruins her life.
Does make me laugh that she still says 'excuse me' when making him wait whilst she calls the cops on him. 'Merica eh?

To be fair, I get where you're coming from. Personally, I'm finding these Twitter pile-on's a bit nauseating.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 4:17 pm The woman clearly has problem and seems to use the fact that the man is 'african-american' as some sort of heightened threat level. I'm all for a bit of understanding and not jumping to conclusions but she approaches him, fairly calmly tells him what she's doing and then puts on the distress for the police. I'd hope she didn't intend for it to actually happen but the threat was that they'd turn up and shoot him, and the risk was that he, or just as likely, some other poor sod 'matching the description' could get killed.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 4:17 pm The woman clearly has problem and seems to use the fact that the man is 'african-american' as some sort of heightened threat level. No excuse for the lady in question and what her actions could've led to if her motivation is straight up and down racism but perhaps there's other reasons unconnected to the bird-watcher such as stress or mental illness that could explain why she's reacted in that way?
Whatever the reasons, twitter isn't the place to judge and sentence someone.

Agree. And the same people on social media will be tweeting “be kind” next time someone takes their own life.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 4:17 pm But the video is a great example of social media pilling onto someone without knowing the details. He’s in a public place so can film as he pleases. Don’t think that’s the issue hereDisoriented wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 10:52 pm The woman clearly is wrong, but why was he filming her?
It isn’t the main issue, granted. But imagine if someone was repeatedly filming a female as she walked through Hainault Park. How would she feel?Millennial Snowflake wrote: ↑Wed May 27, 2020 12:04 pmHe’s in a public place so can film as he pleases. Presumably he's asked people to control their dogs before and been given a less than congenial response.Disoriented wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 10:52 pm The woman clearly is wrong, but why was he filming her?
