double standards I think

Post by point nine one eight »

So Prince Charles has got Corona virus, Neither Queen or Duke Edinburgh has. Where did they get test kit from, we can't get them yet. Also Government doesn't want us clearing off to our holiday homes or caravan parks, yet Queen and the Duke scarper off to Windsor, and Charles does a bunk to his Scottish home and promptly gets ill, exactly what the government didn't want us to do.

Old Jeremy Corblimey would have given short shrift to that particular inbred, antisocial, family-from-hell, but of course you (and others) were persuaded that he was a terrible idea and voted for the Eton mess. And NOW you're complaining?!

Of course it has. Politics defines the actions.

Don’t be naive.

At least he's apparently managing "to do his work" from home. Presumably this involves wandering around his study saying "and what do you do?"

Lacking facts, I’ll help you out here.

PC is at his home in Scotland. He is 71 years old. Under the Scots system he is in an at risk group and therefore qualifies for a test.

Not cos he’s PC, but because of his age and location.

Hope that helps you all understand how he got tested, and privilege has nothing to do with it.

 @ Thory Boy. Funny how the frontline medics at the Aberdeen NHS hospital Charlie & Camilla got their test are still grumbling they’d not been tested. It’s almost like the lives of the rich & poshos are worth more than the plebs...

Charlie boy jumped the queue of 500,000 applying for Universal Credit, 'one has to eat you know' was his excuse. Randy Andy was was refused Universal Credit because his partner was too young to qualify for it.

I think you guys have to realise that the " Establishment " are quaking in their shoes with this virus. If Charlie Boy & Brenda ( see Private Eye ) both succumbed to the dreaded ague, we would have a bit of a problem on our hands. It was bad enough when the Blessed Diana croaked. There was mass hysteria. If number 1 and number 2 curled their toes simultaneously, UK would go into terminal breakdown. They must remain cocooned. Well I am sure Charlie Boy is perhaps expendable!

No need for a breakdown. Declare a republic.

He's the heir to the British Throne, he's gonna get preferential treatment

We've had this monarchy thing for a while. I'd of thought people would've got it by now.

I bet that if Russia had an outbreak and Vlad was feeling a bit under the weather then he'd jump the queue and nobody would say a word. That's because they know what would be coming for them. We can discuss it because its called democracy...

Doesn’t make it right as you infer. Charles is more important in this crisis than frontline NHS staff?

Really?

The UK is a 'Democracy'?

Can you please remind me again when the Royal Family were elected by the British people?

You are very well aware that the royal family have never been elected by the British people, but I fail to understand what that has to do with democracy. They do not rule the country, in anything other than in a token form. If there was a big enough voice for an election then it would have happened already, I would have thought. There are far more important things happening in this country to worry about whether we have a royal family or a president (who'd we'd all moan about as much anyway).
