Good work from the unofficial* podcast boys again.
I’ve made it to the first break so far, not sure I can take much more.

Re: Meet the Manager - Full Recording
Listened to it all back. Very open as always.
My concerns are around:
- Talking up the sale of Happe instead of playing it down (just as Porter was doing the other day). It's as if we want to flog him off for a few quid.
- Touched on strengthening pretty much every position - centre half, full backs, DCM (hopefully Cisse), strikers and wingers. The only ones he didn't mention were Goalkeeper, understandably, and attacking CMs. Clay and Wright have jobs for life. Bonkers. Proper LOL'd at the bloke there who said Wright reminded him of Ray Wilkins.
- Said won't play 4-4-2 because Wright and Clay there leaves us exposed. (Yet doesn't want to strengthen there, would rather just change formation to accomodate them).
- Massively hyped up Ling and the negotiating he's doing (despite the fact that we've got so many players who still haven't been able to finalise negotiations with).
- Blaming the fans for making the players edgy when trying to play the ball out from the back. Blaming the pitch for not being good enough to play the ball out from the back. (No mention of our inadequate CMs hiding as the reason we can't play the ball out from the back).

Re: Meet the Manager - Full Recording
Only listened to the last 10 mins but heard the bit about the formation and that we are exposed in centre midfield if we play 4-4-2. Hopefully that dispels anyone trying to downplay the fact a few of us have been banging on about CM for years.
Agree that its strange that we are changing our formation (and becoming less creative) because we haven't got the midfielders to play 4-4-2, despite Ross liking that. Instead of bringing in a 6th striker who was injured, why didnt we bring in another midfielder?

Can't say I'm surprised. Basically he's saying it's the players fault that we're sh*t.
How much talent is going to leave the club before we finally clock what the problem really is? It's painful watching all the momentum from last year ebb away like this.

Re: Meet the Manager - Full Recording
He was asked about the injured kid and his answer made sense - if the lad was fit, he would have gone to a L1 club, he's that good. So this way we get a player we wouldn't otherwise have got, and we get a little boost at the back end of the season.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 4:20 pm Instead of bringing in a 6th striker who was injured, why didnt we bring in another midfielder?
Presumably with Marsh and Cisse already on loan in that midfield role (remember, Marsh was supposed to be a CM, it's just that he wasn't very good there) we didn't have the funds for another one. Plus it's Clay and Wright, innit.

Had you listened to the whole thing you would of heard 2 or 3 reasons why during the entire season, not just the answer given that you heardApple Wumble wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 4:20 pm Only listened to the last 10 mins but heard the bit about the formation and that we are exposed in centre midfield if we play 4-4-2. Question is are we paying his wages for all the time he spends injured?RedO wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 4:29 pmHe was asked about the injured kid and his answer made sense - if the lad was fit, he would have gone to a L1 club, he's that good. Re: Meet the Manager - Full Recording
Being that he is spending much of his time at Tottenhams treatment room, but was at the home game last weekend , i think that would be a NO.gshaw wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 6:21 pmQuestion is are we paying his wages for all the time he spends injured?RedO wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 4:29 pmHe was asked about the injured kid and his answer made sense - if the lad was fit, he would have gone to a L1 club, he's that good. That question wasn't asked, sadly. But I agree, we can't be. That would be ridiculous.

Re: Meet the Manager - Full Recording
The Q wasnt asked , but we can assume that as was already stated ,
Had the kid been fit he would be on loan in league 1 not league 2.
His injury put paid to that & as Ross has known the kid for a few years
Its a no risk loan , when he is fit we get him .
Seems to be a 1/3 of wages for us getting a kid on loan as was discussed with the
Dean Smith question.

Not sure I believe that considering he had a couple of unsuccessful loan spells at league one clubs already.tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 7:11 pmThe Q wasnt asked , but we can assume that as was already stated ,

Harsh on Sterling that, considering his loan with Doncaster was cut short back in September because of the injury he's currently recovering from.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 9:07 pmNot sure I believe that considering he had a couple of unsuccessful loan spells at league one clubs already.tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 7:11 pmThe Q wasnt asked , but we can assume that as was already stated ,

Like Bonne and Koroma last summer, we're going to have to accept that Happe is almost certain to go this summer to a bigger club.RedO wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 4:08 pm Listened to it all back. Very open as always.

Probably our best player this season IMO and only 21 and will get better. Not many 6'5 left footed centre halfs who can play out from the back knocking around.
