I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus

For years I thought this song was about a kid catching his mum sh*gging Santa on Christmas Eve.
It was subsequently pointed out to me that it’s about a kid seeing his dad dressed as Father Christmas snogging his mum.
I did point out that even if this is the case the kid doesn’t know that it’s his dad so he still thinks he is witnessing his mum getting pumped by an old fat dude with a beard.
Anyone else misunderstand the meaning of this song or just me?

Someone who can’t distinguish kissing from as you put it pumping needs to have a word with themselves

Yeah , I've always thought it was Santa Claus as well.
