Supreme Court Hearing
Watching it live on the BBC. It's a bit dry but the side seeking the restoration of democracy appear to be winning. No sign of Spen anywhere.

Re: Supreme Court Hearing
If they find against Johnson, will he have to resign, for misleading the Queen?

Quite right too, although I enjoyed much more the impassioned savaging Johnson received from a father at Whipps Cross today.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 6:05 pm Mother of parliaments shut down by father of lies', QC tells court in jibe at Boris Johnson

Re: Supreme Court Hearing
The fella was there in his capacity as a father. He was perfectly entitled to tell Johnson of his experience at Whipps. Re: Supreme Court Hearing
But it's done the job, hasn't it. All the useful idiots have picked up the ball and are running with it. "He's a labour activist, don't you know?" is the story - or the pile on itself, or Laura. Not the NHS underfunding, and most certainly not the fact that our Prime Minister's first reaction to being challenged was an out-and-out lie. Right there, right in front of the press, he lied. He's playing us all for mugs - he knows he can just say the first untruth that comes into his head, and get away with it. The contempt he has for us is palpable.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 9:53 amI expect nothing less from Laura. Back to the thread subject, though - there is a connection. It's clear why there's no affidavit from Johnson on the prorogation - he (or his advisor) knows that if he appears in the Supreme Court, he'll lie - it's in his nature to lie - and he'll be caught in the lie, and, unlike the media, the Court would hold him to account for lying - an perjury does carry some fairly stiff repercussions.

That the NHS is chronically underfunded? Absolutely. But Laura Kuntsberg doesn't seem to be interested in that.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 10:18 am Is it not a journalists job to point out these facts?

Correct. Especially the bit about not providing a witness stastement to the SC.StillSpike wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 10:03 amBut it's done the job, hasn't it. He can't put in writing his claim that proroging parliament was to enable him to prepare and present his legislative programme because that's not the reason. There will be too much evidence floating around that could come out and contradict him that he dare not lie in writing.

I like the way John Major is against the proroging. He did this for cash for questions, to prevent it being discussed.

Firstly, I don't feel I have a political bias. If anything I'm a tad conservative (small c) in my views. So,tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 12:05 pmI dont dis agree (Disoriented wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 6:13 amThe fella was there in his capacity as a father. The bloke who pulled him up was a dad who happened to be an activist. It was always going to be someone like him pulling Boris up because Tory supporters would not.
I think the press denial shows Boris off perfectly. He blatantly lies into the face of the camera's he'd denying. Ignore any personal bias - how can anyone possibly trust anyone who would lie in such a blatant manner? This man is being charged with my kids - and possibly my kids kids future with the Brexit decision. Unbelieveable.....

Re: Supreme Court Hearing
The attack on the reporter (insulted above) is typical of the new Labour Party's strategy: Assault the journalist who criticises Corbyn/the Party pour encourager les autres.RedO wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 10:23 amThat the NHS is chronically underfunded? It seems to be received wisdom that the NHS is chronically underfunded. How much, in Sterling, would be acceptable to those who repeat this claim? (And rather than stretch this absurdity out any longer than necessary, the NHS in England alone is currently funded to the tune of £134,000,000,000 this financial year - with much more coming, ridiculously, just to feed this grotesque national shibboleth. That's a daily cost of around £368.1 MILLION each day.
We will then proceed on to:
- the murder/recklessness/carelessness by a minority of its staff;
- the disproportionate ratio and salaries of administrative staff to operational staff (and on the first point: no, the hotel industry is not an acceptable comparator, HM Prison Service is a much better example of a organisation with a comparably specific operational focus. And on the second point, the chief executive of Whipps X earns twice as much as the Prime Minister and really ought to have been the person to whom Mr Salem addressed his wroth);
- health tourism and its effects (everyone knows the arguments and thinks they know the costs until the gallant cry of "racism" halts any further consideration of the point);
- foreign staff (where the absence of their skills in their home countries is very much to their own countries' detriment);
- how the "world class NHS" is no such thing and ranks mid table, at best, in international comparisons;
- how the Labour Party has already sold off the NHS with its obscene PFI Programme, and
- how much of the traditional notion of a national health service has been cut adrift, resulting, for example, in the disgusting treatment of the "Olds" as Jezza's disciples commonly refer to anyone over 60, except H-Block McConnell and the septuagenarian Glorious Leader himself of course.

Re: Supreme Court Hearing
And again, the blatant lie, by our supposed Prime Minister, to the man's face - on camera, in front of the press he's denying are there - is NOT the story.

Is it the establishment against the people? - you bet, the Old Etonian cabal are denying the peoples democratically elected representatives a voice in parliament.
