Because all Salford haters on here would hate Bury instead. (By the way you should change did to did'nt).

I assume because they have a bigger potential fan base, they were a lot lot cheaper and it was easier to get some ego boosting promotions quickly.

Fair enough, but what about Bury?

It would probably have meant taking on a lot of debt I would assume.
Salford were probably in a better financial position.

I was thinking the same and wandering what the financial situation was with Bury when they bought Salford several years ago. Wouldve thought that it would be better than it is now.I think the comment is fair game as the Neville brothers have been pontificating on Burys situation.

Because Gary Neville lived a 2 minute walk from the ground wasnt it.

More scope for growth

Certainly Salford's crowds have gone up tremendously whereas even when Bury were going up last season their crowds were still not great

They could basically mould Salford into anything they wanted.

I don't think proud Oldham lad Paul Scholes would put money into Bury. Salford was obviously a neutral project all of the class of 92 could invest in. Must be galling for Bury fans to see
