Re: Aaron Drinnon
If so, then easy to put right. just change the headline on the thread from ''Aaron Drinan'' to ''Theo Archibald''

I love my nan
I do not however love/like any of our strikers. This lot would struggle to score in a brothel. Seen a better conversion rate at a Jehovah’s out reach.

Re: Aaron Drinnon
With no Graham or Agyei they are now going to struggle even more .We now carry no attacking threat . I feel sorry for Forde this afternoon . He probably won't get to touch the ball let alone score .

Re: Aaron Drinnon
The recruitment for strikers has been so poor this time around. I can’t comment on Agyei for obvious reasons but the others including Graham have been really underwhelming. Ruel has chipped in but again is not converting enough of his efforts. The drought is not for lack of attempts, it’s the finishing!
I know you can only do so much in training, I think it really does come down to the mentality of the player. Some have a natural killer instinct in front of goal and others just naturally stink in front of goal.

Re: Aaron Drinnon
Without stating the obvious Graham and others are taking a wage still.
What budget do we have if any for another striker or any other player for that matter?
To be brutally honest I think we are stuck with our lot, unless we can get a result from Spurs or the like with another gem from their reserves? Personally I would like to see us have a clear out and be a little brutal in that department.
It’s a pretty simple game with a pretty simple rule. If you don’t score you will not win. It’s not panic stations but something has to change with either strikers mind set or the strikers themselves.

Re: Aaron Drinnon
Even if we have enough left in our budget our problem is the same has everybody else's. We can't sign anybody new until January . What do we do in the meantime .?Frogger wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 5:20 pm Without stating the obvious Graham and others are taking a wage still.

Re: Aaron Drinnon
James at RWB is the obvious answer, he is good going forward, he played there under Jackett and even scored four goals I think, Turns or Beckles back at CB, James RWB is the perfect solution

I don't think he works very hard, he just runs around, aimlessly.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 5:44 pmWorks very hard but unfortunately there's no goals in him .
Easy to confuse the two.

Re: Aaron Drinnon
Drinan. Needs to be sold, however with his goal rate no one would take him. His level is clearly non league and I can’t think of a single team in non league or even league 2 that would pay his wage £3500 per week.
I’m sure he is a great lad and good around the training ground etc etc etc but it is not what this club needs. We have plenty of bubbly energetic characters. I am not singling Drinan out as the sole reason for lack of goals, it’s just his wage along with Jordan’s for a combined goal return if 0 is not a good investment.
Not sure what the issue with Jordan and how long he will be out but we need to just accept some gambles don’t pay out

scored 16 goals when in L2 for us as already pointed out in 1 of 3 Drinan threads in a weekFrogger wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 6:02 pm Drinan. Re: Aaron Drinnon
Every dog has his day. That season he scored 13 was a fluke. He has shown he cannot score consistently and without any true meaning throughout his career.
He is not good enough at this level, he is average at very best at league 2 and that is pushing it, however I think you will agree he is definitely not good enough for this level or higher. I wish him well and I really mean that but if I was the boss he would have been sold or loaned out already. A striker that scored 13 goals one season and has a combined tally of less than 30 in over 110+ games should not be earning £3500 per week and definitely not from this club.

Totally agree, a good striker consistently scores goal every season, way out of his depth now and a drain on the budget.Frogger wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 6:29 pm Every dog has his day.
