Trouble after the match today
Looked like there was a bit of argy bargy outside the East Stand between Stevenage & Orient fans this afternoon.
Anyone see anything?

Re: Trouble after the match today
Left 15 mins early and there was a group of Stevenage fans inexplicably outside already giving it the big one. No doubt you had some div Orient fans taking the bait.

Re: Trouble after the match today
Yes, silly kids shouting at obese men in their 50s who had been ejected from the ground and were waiting for their mates.
Oddly, one looked just like Evans. It was uncanny.

Every team has their fair share of idiots Ron, and unfortunately we are no different
Re: Trouble after the match today
Think that's a loud if poo. I'm in pub drinking with Stevenage fans. Agro was one of our Day tripper fans being rude to our staff. So no

The language from some Orient supporters is dreadfully embarrassing and has been for years. Some just refuse to alter their ways despite being told. Causes friction especially with adults who have children with them.

Well the majority of real fans do not swear. There is always a loud mouth who thinks swearing very loudly and being extremely abusive to the ref and linesman makes him a superior fan to the rest. Personally I long for these types to be deterred. Hardly being a snowfake protecting children, especially your own.Type high wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 1:16 amA budding snowflake, man in football crowd swears someone doesn't want their children to hear. oi snowflake get some common senseLoin Cloth Lenny wrote: ↑Sat Sep 02, 2023 8:37 pm The language from some Orient supporters is dreadfully embarrassing and has been for years. Nothing wrong with a bit of fruity language at the football. But I agree some people take it way too far and are just mindlessly abusive for the sake of it.Loin Cloth Lenny wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 7:43 amWell the majority of real fans do not swear. I’ve never understood the people who go to a football match and spent the majority of the time facing sideways trying to wind up opposition fans.

Restraint is a social skill. Things wind me up in the street all day long but I contain myself as I do not want to be arrested. Most people who act like that at football matches have underlying problems. Some of the most avid fans I know over there who have been supporters all their life do not act like that and the fact remains, only a minority of them do.Type high wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 9:56 amThe Majority of fans do swear always have and will continue to, you want to sanitize the game, in the heat of the game people will swear, human natureLoin Cloth Lenny wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 7:43 amWell the majority of real fans do not swear. This. And this.
If I didn’t exercise self control and people skills outside on the street I’d be serving a life sentence for a number of heinous crimes to my fellow Londoners.
Yet some people genuinely believe that because they’re inside a football ground the rules of society don’t apply for 90 minutes.
I’m with you on why spend hard earned money to dig out away fans and not watch the match. Baffling. I often wonder if it’s people with underlying problems or those who have had a lot of anger and frustration build up over the course of the week and see it as a way to let off steam.
I don’t understand the latter myself. If I need a release I have a run or hit the gym.
It’s sort of excusable when it’s silly young kids or, in the past, when the game was more localised geographically and people were territorial but I find it’s mostly blokes who are 40+ which is embarrassing.

Re: Trouble after the match today
There is a younger generation of “fan” who drink too much, take too much coke & live in a society where you can be as abusive an vile on social media as you want without any serious repercussion. Emboldened by being in a group with their mates, they live up to the “away days” culture - again largely promoted and glorified on social media - and generally act like mouthy pillocks knowing that deep down 95% of the people they come across at football will just be normal people who aren’t going to get involved in any trouble.
Problems arise when these kids encounter blokes in their 40s/50s who, fuelled by lager & rose tinted memories of “back in the day” when fisticuffs at footy was more common, who see it as an opportunity to “teach them a lesson”.
Ultimately what end up with is overconfident mouthy kids getting into scraps with aging blokes who really should know better.
It’s all a bit sad and pathetic. There’s nothing wrong with a bit of verbal banter back and forth between fans. But when the game ends everyone should just accept the result on the pitch and head off home or to the pub to enjoy the rest of the day.
Going around having punch ups with strangers over football is ridiculous behaviour.

Re: Trouble after the match today
I have noticed the police let a lot of abusive and unsavoury language go these days - also seems all teams bring an element of younger lary fans who have a day out -
There always seems to be no trouble at home these days as our so called OTF firm are all 50plus and not living in the past

Re: Trouble after the match today
I sometimes use a bit of fruity language myself ( usually at the ref or lino ) , what upset me most yesterday was the guy screaming out for Steve Evans to have a stroke
I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy
