Re: carnival
2,000,000 people attended, 275 arrests across three days. Not ideal but doesn't seem a particularly high rate. For comparison, 86 people were arrested out of 90,000 attendees at the Euro 2020 final (equivalent to 1,909 people arrested if numbers were the same as at Carnival) and I haven't seen many people saying England shouldn't play games at Wembley any more.

Is that level of abuse (and stupidity) really necessary?
The ‘card’ has already been pulled out of the pocket by yourself. Best to not wave it again, as doing so removes any doubt that you are prejudiced.

I'm impressed by greyhound's sense of civic duty and consideration of the welfare of residents living on the mean streets of Notting Hill.

You seem very confused here. How is being anti-racist just a thing for those on the left of politics?
As for this being a ‘free speech’ country, you are correct and free to espouse your ignorance.

Re: carnival
8 stabbed, and 50 Police Officers assaulted in the course of going about their duty, including being punched, spat-at, stamped on, and bitten.
I imagine the Met can't wait for the next one. An afternoon in E10 policing Orient v Fleetwood it is not.
I've no idea of the ethnic origin of the perpetrators- and no interest in it either: plenty of scum of all colours in this country as we all know, but for some of the Officers in question- this sounds like hell on earth..
I, for one, feel for them, even if no-one else does. They are of course just real people with familes.

Re: carnival
That incident probably resulted in one of the eight people stabbed or even the person still on the critical list.
