Not really. She made a very dignified statement at what must Bea bloody awful time for her and her family, Edwards had a history of depression and I suspect he’s going to have a difficult few months.

I say:- You are an argumentative person for little reason aren''t you? It has been well documented that Huw Edwards has had mental health issues for more than several years. He has been severely depressed, enough that he has been admitted to hospital. The Met have decided that on evidence so far provided, no crimes have been committed. He has obviously made some disastrous personal decisions ( could have been related to his mental condition). The Sun has milked the story for it's Political reasons. I can see no need for your crass comment. But it is the sort of thing I expect from you. This is the sort of story that shows few people in a good light. I feen very sorry for Huw's family. It is difficult to comment on the victim's families without seeing the hard evidence.

News UK skilled at amplifying its journalism, ex-employee says
The Sun is part of a "media ecosystem" - News UK - that is "extremely good at amplifying its own reporting", a journalist who used to work for the company has said.

Jake Kanter, investigations editor at Deadline, said the Sun's story about the BBC presenter has been "talked about endlessly in the outrage machine that is TalkRadio and TalkTV" - both media organisations that fall under the News UK brand.

Kanter is the former media correspondent at the Times, which is also owned by News UK.

"Then you have politicians that work for that news station, someone like [Conservative MP] Nadine Dorries, commenting on the story, saying the BBC is not doing enough here and accusing the BBC of a cover-up.

"So this all works in the favour of News UK and they've got the BBC right where they want them," Kanter tells the BBC's Media Show.

As claims and counter-claims surrounding a BBC presenter continue to dominate the headlines, there are still many questions about what happened and how the story has been handled.

One area under scrutiny is how the Sun has reported the story.

For example, what evidence has the newspaper seen that the young person sent explicit photos to the presenter when they were 17, as the paper reported?

Why has the Sun not named the presenter?

And why hasn't the paper's editor - or the reporters who worked on the story - agreed to do interviews?

Just reflect that if Rupert Murdoch et al get their way, the main source of our "news " will be the Sun & Sky News. I think people should think carefully before they say stuff and what they wish for.

There appears to be 2 victims of this atm (there may be 3). The young person (has anyone said what sex this individual is?) and Huw Edwards. Both require some counselling/medical attention and neither will gain any peace if they continue to be in the public spotlight. I hope they are left alone to recover in the speediest possible time.

Hypothesis: anxiety and depression is an emergent factor of carrying out secretive, negative, exploitative behaviours when you know you’re doing wrong and when you know there’ll be serious consequences if exposed, so isn’t actually mitigation of the behaviour

The "modelling" industry was (and may well still be to a lesser degree) a very expoitative one. Young girls desperate to succeed knowing very few do; bosses knowing this. A very toxic recipe. These days you can see the same willingness to succeed around premiership football lounges. Young girls trying to attach themselves to rising football stars. Its little wonder the Sunday papers have periodic "scandals" where footballers take advantage of their prowess to do the same to "girls" that thought they had found a golden ticket.

He might not have done anything illegal, but a 60 year old having some sort of relationship with an 18 year old isnt a good look.
