Yes I see he has changed his mind. In my humble opinion a very wise decision. Will truly be the start of a new era now

Why will it be new? We have a monarch, the status quo continues

Mindsweep:- New era because I think The King will have perhaps a slightly different take to the Monarchy & don't forget we got a very very new PM.
Yes stamps & coins will be still usable but I think you will be surprised at the speed the ole boy's head will appear on some coins & stamps. I remember it seemed like ages before Lizzies head was on the old pennies but she was soon on 6d's & 1/-'s
I sell coins & stamps on eBay & Lizzies stuff is selling like hot cakes in what has been a very lean time.

Mindsweep I feel Charlie hates the sweaty one. Charlie is notoriously shy. The sweaty likes to put it about.

Type high:- It was quite widely reported some years ago he wanted to be George VII. Maybe he said this to please him mum ( who was devoted to her dad ). But he changed his mind, I think wisely. When the PM referred to him as Charles III before his official announcement, there was a definite note of horror from Nicholas Witchell when he said- " I hope she hasn't jumped the gun there ". But I reckon she was privy to the information before she made her speech.

As someone said yesterday - it's going to be tricky to say "King Charles" without adding "Spaniel" at the end.

Traditionally the death of a queen has ended the house / dynasty. Eg Anne the Stuart's, Elizabeth I the Tudors. Will we see the end of the house of Windsor?

Looking at Charles on the telly yesterday, he does not look well. Puffy, blotchy skin with swollen joints. I don't fancy this thread being as long as the Queen Watch. Unless he goes and does or says something really stupid.

Just watched the Proclamation, He looked extremely tetchy when one of his flunkies wasn't fast enough in taking & giving his pen. I wonder if he will bring back the function of Groom of the Stool to wipe his arse? I thought he looked visibly aged. He is about 10 months younger than me. No way would I fancy his job. I think the job he has yearned for all this time, is a bit of a poisoned chalice.

Having to keep Megan away from Balmoral and then watch wee Krankie having to sign the same document as oneself is enough to make one a tad tetchy. Nicky couldn't even use her click crayon pen, she had to use a real one.

Seriously though he did act a bit grumpy but the man is grieving for his Mum. Sadly many if us know how that feels having lost our own. We just didn't have flunkies.to take it out on.
