Pressure ?

2 doubles Finals had been won & She has just won the Womens single .

if the Scotsman had been younger/ Fit maybe it would have been a clean sweep

Extraordinary stuff. She looked in command all game long and despite a couple of wobbles she caned it. Much like the O’s Will this season.

Hang on. I'm sure I recognize her from Wimbers as the one who had a meltdown under pressure.

Thrilling/exhausting to watch

And that’s where it all goes wrong. That’s obscene. At 18 she’s already earned in 3 weeks more than I’ll earn in my entire working life, and by some margin. That can’t be right.

Splitting hairs I know but she won it rather than earned it. The $2.5M was the winner's take of a prize fund and she took it by being better than anyone else over those three weeks.

What is obscene is people who earn a lot of money but are totally useless in their jobs - of which there are many examples.

It wasn't really 3 weeks, it's the result of years, obvs. But I take Stowaway's point

But the £1.8million only went to an 18 year old because the 18 year old won the tournament. She deserves it for that. The implication is that if a 30 year old had won it that would have been ok.

It's not like, for example, up and coming footballers who have yet to establish themselves in a team or prove their worth demanding and signing contracts for big money at a similar sort of age.

The break when she cut her knee really helped her. Her opponent was in the ascendancy at that moment, and the break seemed to help Emma.

She will be winning grand slams for years to come

I do not know whether I’m more excited over this young lady’s fabulous achievement or the ABBA Come Back Tour.
Even so , it just goes to show that despite Brexit we still can embrace all diversity, creeds and faiths. Emma will be an even bigger superstar soon as she has hardly started her career yet!

Worse still you watch very average footballers at our ground who may be earning as much in a month as many supporters do in a year......

:D these ‘very average footballers’ are literally in the top 0.1% of people in the country that play. Also if any of our supporters earn £8k a year they need to have a word with their employer

I think you will find our captain earning more than that, with his win bonuses.
