The days of us selling our best players for peanuts are over . Stansfield went for £10million so in my opinion we should hold out for more than £6+ million . If Bristol City won't or can't match that valuation then goodbye, somebody else will pay it if they want him badly enough .gshaw wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2026 6:01 pm I reckon the club will deal around £5-6 million with add-ons and sell-on clause to get it done and move on with the next signings

Re: Ballard Bids
I'd like to see £8-£10 million, not sure if it'll happen though, we need a team with more money than sense to join the bidding. Wet Spam perhaps?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2026 8:13 pmThe days of us selling our best players for peanuts are over . Re: Ballard Bids
Probably be a case of being made an offer we can't refuse. We've already stated that we've no need to sell him. Poss a lot of hesitation - will he have another 15-20 goal season? More realistic will be the January window. If Dom' s scored 12:goals by then we might get that offer we cannot refuse.

Yes , I was about to mention West Ham . Sometimes I watch a show on YouTube called Hammers chat . According to him they have been linked with Ballard .gshaw wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2026 8:22 pmI'd like to see £8-£10 million, not sure if it'll happen though, we need a team with more money than sense to join the bidding. Unless we've brought in his replacement already by then, this would be a death knell for the season.Adz wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2026 8:42 pm This isn't ideal, but I think the best money we can make for him will be on the transfer deadline
We currently only have one fit striker in the entire squad.

Re: Ballard Bids
Yup we need one regardless of if he stays or goes, whether we go out and spend upfront on a new first choice before selling the current one is the questionE10quence wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2026 8:45 pmUnless we've brought in his replacement already by then, this would be a death knell for the season.Adz wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2026 8:42 pm This isn't ideal, but I think the best money we can make for him will be on the transfer deadline

Still think it will be Jan but it’s all well and good turning down offers but how long until the player thinks f*** this and puts in minimal effort until they are allowed to leave.cymruO wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2026 8:33 pm Probably be a case of being made an offer we can't refuse. On the other hand if Dom keeps playing well not only would he be worth more he could earn more when he moves on to a bigger club .Rich Tea Wellin wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2026 8:59 pmStill think it will be Jan but it’s all well and good turning down offers but how long until the player thinks f*** this and puts in minimal effort until they are allowed to leave.cymruO wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2026 8:33 pm Probably be a case of being made an offer we can't refuse. Re: Ballard Bids
Going by RWs interview after Lincoln he expected Dom to go last week so I imagine it's very close, RW said we need to be aggressive in the transfer market this week. there is an advantage for signing his replacement before he is sold as clubs are going to try and inflate prices if we have a few million burning a hole in our pocket and are trying to sign a new striker. I think we will also bring in another striker on loan before the season starts.
I'm thinking it's going to be a busy few days.

I don't think Bristol is happening now they've signed Tolaj, so unless another interested party emerges, who are willing to meet our valuation - which I have seen no evidence of, as yet - I think we should assume the same, for the time being.

Re: Ballard Bids
Bristol City may well still happen even though they are signing Tolaj, They have new investment and have big plans, Dom was pictured by a Bristol fan watching the Bristol City vs Stockport game on Friday morning and while it would be nice to think he will stay with us in all likely hood he won't.E10quence wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2026 9:29 pmHe also said they're currently planning on him staying.Top of the JES wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2026 9:24 pm Going by RWs interview after Lincoln he expected Dom to go last week so I imagine it's very close, RW said we need to be aggressive in the transfer market this week. there is an advantage for signing his replacement before he is sold as clubs are going to try and inflate prices if we have a few million burning a hole in our pocket and are trying to sign a new striker. The chat from the Bristol City accounts on X suggest they want Tolaj and Ballard, that's Championship finances for you I guess

Lots of Orient players were watching the game. Richie seemed pretty definitive that Bristol probably wasn't happening anymore, but thought there was a possibility that another Championship club might swoop in before deadline. I'm not seeing/hearing anything concrete at the moment though.

Re: Ballard Bids
They have had a lot of money pumped into the club, it's one of the reasons Skubala left Lincoln City to go there. I think a deal for Dom is closer that we think.gshaw wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2026 9:48 pm The chat from the Bristol City accounts on X suggest they want Tolaj and Ballard, that's Championship finances for you I guess

Re: Ballard Bids
I suspect that comment re other clubs was as much for Bristol Citys consumption as for O's fans. "Nearly done last week" and "just needed a bit more" plus maybe other clubs interested was IMHO sending out a message to Bristol City as much as the O's fanbase.E10quence wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2026 9:53 pmLots of Orient players were watching the game. If we accept £5 mil, this is what we are saying.
We do not believe he can score 20+ next season so because we are little Leyton Orient we will not take that chance and so take the breadcrumbs that are on the table now.

He's a good player deserves his chance to kick on in the Championship, £5million breadcrumbs? you have a warped sense of worth.

Yes it's my take but a legitimate opinion. Thats what message boards are for. He will eventually get his chance in the championshp, would already have had it if he had stayed at Southampton. Breadcrumbs is just an expression, it's valid if we only take £5mil.

Yes really credible name on that fake post, Roy DeAlien with little picture of an alien.
