Re: New stadium
Lea Bridge station is tiny and has a fairly pitiful service, basically a twice hourly shuttle between Stratford and Tottenham, compared to where we currently benefit from both the underground and Midland Road Overground.

Re: New stadium
Key question for me is who asked the question "would we like a new ground - answer is a no brainer yes but it would be years off even if we could a) find a site and b) fund it.

Re: New stadium
We clearly need a bigger capacity for L2 or L1.
23/24 - same stadium as this year and then revamp the East Side undercroft in summer (all planned upfront)
24/25 - Better East Side - means we are back to 9271 capacity or a little more (if we reconfigure the Wyvern Suite and tunnel ) and also have a variable sized away section (dependent on opposition). Also possible extra seats over the South Stand moat?
Keep looking for site in Leyton area or nearby. Review league position and ticket demand
25/26 - a) Long term decision to rebuild East Stand or further develop or b) start detailed planning for new ground
c.2030 - New Ground? or Brissy with c.12K max

Re: New stadium
We have never needed a bigger stadium at anytime in our history. Our capacity has fallen at a slower rate than our attendances. This year has been an exception and although it would be great if it becomes the norm, it probably won't. 6 years ago we nearly went out of business, it happened before in the 90's and the 60's. Is it a good idea to plan for the sunlit uplands on the back on one season. When we are knocking on the door of the Championship is the time to start contemplating expansion.Reflecto wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 4:47 pm We clearly need a bigger capacity for L2 or L1.

Just needs a hook up to Liverpool street as already connected to Stratford .
Looks big enough to deal with an Orient matchday
If Timetable is increased on a Saturday

Re: New stadium
If they could somehow aquire Leyton cricket ground, that site would be perfect. I dont think Orient would ever be in a position to create enough revenue that warrants spending upwards of £50m building a new one though.
Could work out with a permanent ground share with West Ham/Spurs womens and under 21s.
Could probably get Brisbane Road to 15k or more by dropping the pitch lower, banking the seats in the south and west differently, a new and bigger north stand. A new and bigger east stand. Its all just a lot of money to be spending that isn’t a priority.

Re: New stadium
Been in them at the away end at Chelsea, I liked them. Would be an issue, like it is at away matches with us, that those on the smaller size would have issues seeing.
They need to be placed well away from opposite fans because any trouble would restrict getting away from it
There are far more incidents of crowd trouble happening in the lower leagues. I spoke with a few plod before the Palace Brighton game who said in the PL they see very little because the games are well policed. Lower down they are getting much more requests for increased policing at games.

Re: New stadium
Lowering the pitch is a really interesting idea, however, given that our ground is already in the area predicted to flood more often as sea levels rise - having a sunken pitch might be a problem! The East side remains the best area for development - if it was double tier and went as far into Brisbane road as the planning rules allowed it could be a great stand. I reckon it could get to 6K - which would put the ground capacity at 12.5K.

Re: New stadium
Porter said on the pods that there will be a Project Manager for the east to look at the options- reconfiguration, rebuild etc.

Re: New stadium
Makes sense to go down the League ladder if you're after a ruck, there were something like 600 Plod on duty at Spurs v West Ham the other week. The Mindsweep wrote: ↑Tue Mar 07, 2023 9:32 amBeen in them at the away end at Chelsea, I liked them. Re: New stadium
This I guess could be done in theory but I would have thought the the existing foundations of the stands and flats would need to be strengthened and that in itself will cost a fortune. Also not sure there would be enough room around the pitch to add another "layer"BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Tue Mar 07, 2023 8:38 am

At some stage will will have to bite the bullet and demolish the East Stand and build something with more capacity and better facilities even that is difficult now though with the flats in place, it would need to be a two or three tier effort on the same footprint of the current stand. likely to be the only way to stay ay Brisbane Road and increase capacity.

Yes but I love that proper football structure. Re: New stadium
Rebuild all 4stands , the amount of space in front of north & south gets another few rows to the pitch each end we can also go steeper ..Top of the JES wrote: ↑Tue Mar 07, 2023 1:39 pmThis I guess could be done in theory but I would have thought the the existing foundations of the stands and flats would need to be strengthened and that in itself will cost a fortune. Also not sure there would be enough room around the pitch to add another "layer"BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Tue Mar 07, 2023 8:38 am

Rebuild east & west we can get upto 16,000 comfortably
